Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Shuffleboard

Daisies and cone flowers in my back yard

Woke up this morning to a thunder storm.  Though I will walk in rain, I don't during a thunder storm so I did my exercise tape first thing when I got up.  By the time I was finished with that the storm had passed so I went for my walk.  It was 68 degrees and still cloudy but the sun was soon shining brightly. : )

Stayed around town this morning and for my walk.  This is the stream behind the ball park and it is all muddy from the rain.
One of the horses down by the Drane House came over when I walked by.  She stuck her head through the wire.  She was hoping for a goodie but I just petted her which she seemed to like just fine.
Saw George in town and we stopped and had a little chat.
I walked 5.2 miles.

Home this morning getting some things done around the house.  Right after lunch I brought those chocolate chip cookies I made the other day and off we went to a Super Senior outing at Chester and Linda's house for a day of playing shuffleboard.
Ken and I were a team and we played 4 games - lost two and won two.  Ken played a few more games than I did.  There was lots of good food to eat too and we all had a good time. : )

Hope your day has been a happy one.

Your cone flowers and daisies are beautiful, Karen! Love the rocks behind them, too. Makes a gorgeous background for the flowers.

We had that storm early this morning also. I believe we are in for another one tomorrow.

Your day playing shuffleboard sounds great!

Have a great weekend.

I need to pick up my pace just a bit to match yours - I usually do a mile in about 20 minutes. Your senior outing sounds like a lot of fun. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I think maybe you live up the road from my brother Max. Are you on 219? I looked up some of the places you mentioned once, and it seemed to me you were. Anyway, he and his wife have a pick-your-own blueberry farm -- a gorgeous place -- on 219 in Renick, WV. South of Hillsboro and Droop Mtn., Such a lovely area. Your mention of rain (again) made me think of it. The repeated rain almost daily has kept their customers away, and they have so many lovely berries. They've had their farm for about 20+ years. Glad you got to go for your walk!

Your coneflowers and daisies are pretty. I hope to have daisies next year, I always admired my neighbor's daisies. I've never played shuffleboard.
