Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Rain Music

✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
57 degrees this morning and another rainy walk.  Didn't wear my rain gear but I did have my umbrella and it stayed up during my whole walk.

Stayed around town again and just walked all over town and around the two cemeteries and the ball park.  I usually stay in town during rain in case we should get a thunder storm.

Didn't see any one else at all, just people in cars.  I have quite a few cars and trucks that I see every day and a lot of them wave or give me a toot as they drive by. : )

Passing by the town pond I zoomed in and tried to get a picture of the Red Winged Black bird.  This one came out the best.
I know I've said this many times but I love to listen to the rain falling on my umbrella.  The steady rain was nice to hear but then when I walked under trees larger drops would fall and there were a variety of sounds.  It was rain music. : )

I found the first coin of the month - a lucky penny.
Walked 5.2 miles.

We wanted to go to HT today and work on the cabin but the rain kept us away.  I got a little cleaning done in the house and on my computer too.  I'm going through all my bookmarks making sure they are still good ones, checking to see if I still know the passwords and getting rid of ones I no longer want.  It is quite a job and I still have more to do.  I'm going to feel so good though when I get finished.

After lunch even though it was still rainy we went to a nursery to buy the rest of our plants for the garden.  I got 2 New Guinea impatiens for the front yard and I eggplant and cucumbers for my garden.  Ken is growing tomatoes in his raised garden beds in the back yard and he picked up a couple of cherry tomato plants.  I wanted to get some lettuce and peppers but they were all gone already.  I think I've got enough to keep me busy now for this year.  If all goes well with these, I'll expand next year.

Since we only went out for pizza on my birthday this evening we drove out to Morgantown, WV and had my birthday dinner at the Outback.  We both had salads, steaks and baked potatoes - me sweet, Ken white.  Delicious.
Afterwards we stopped in at Michael's and I bought some more yarn. : )

BTW, I'm reading and liking the second Outlander book.

That's it for today.
Hope your day was a happy one.

Don't you just love the sound of rain on an umbrella? And... That chirp or whistle not sure what to call it of the red winged blackbird. Mine squawks when the feeder is empty.

I hop this rain stops soon, I need to see the sun again. I walk on my treadmill indoors when it rains. Cute shot of the Redwing Blackbird. Enjoy your Wednesday!

I love the way the birds cooperate when you take their picture. Beautiful bird pictures today and last few days.
Walking in the rain is fun. I always think of that song "Walking in the rain". Are your injuries healing from your fall? Mary Jo

Cleaning up the computer is a great job for a rainy day. It's amazing how quickly those bookmarked things can pile up in there.
Your vegetable garden sounds like it will offer a lot of tasty summer eating.

I like to treat my wife to dinner several times for her birthday, and that is what you and Ken did!
