Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Fun Land

A picture from yesterdays walk.
 ✿     ✿     ✿     ✿
Never got time to blog yesterday.  Went up to Happy Trails right after breakfast and was there until a little after 5.

We stood the front wall up on the cabin, built the back wall and stood that up too.  Here is Ken high up on some scaffolding he built.  The front of the cabin is higher than the back so it will have an unusual roof line.  I'm not even sure how it will all turn out. : )
A picture from the back.
And here I'm looking up from down on the driveway.
After we got home from HT, we just had time to get cleaned up, grab a bite to eat and then it was off to church.
Once we got back home I was just to tired to do any blogging.  I did enjoy nice bowl of ice cream though. : )

This morning it was 58 degrees when I went for my walk.  It was a cloudy morning with no blue sky at all and nice to be out walking.  Went first to the post office to drop off a Netflix and then walked around the Farm Loop.  A loop around the ball park loop and then home.  Stopped for a chat with a man sitting at one of the picnic benches at the park.

The same horses down by the Drane House that I took a picture of the other day but this time zoomed in and took the picture from the road by the school.
I walked 5.4 miles.
Didn't find any coins today but yesterday I found thee pennies.

Today we went to FunLand with the seniors group from church.  There were a dozen of us and we had a ball.  We played miniature golf, then had pizza there for lunch outside on the picnic tables.  The pizza was great.  I think, even better than Brenda's.  After lunch we all went for a ride on the carousel. I haven't been on one of them in years and really enjoyed it.
Here's me enjoying the ride.
It looked like rain the whole time we were there but it didn't start raining until we were on the carousel.
Our outing for next month is over at Chester and Linda's place for some shuffleboard and a cookout.  : )

Hope your day had been a happy one.

Eileen - No, my birthday isn't coming up soon, it was the end of last month.
You asked about the building in the picture up at HT.  That is the tractor barn.  We built that one a couple of years ago.

  1. You have been so very busy! That is super progress on the cabin at HT. I've not been on a carousel in years, but I think it would be fun. You look like you are enjoying it.

  2. It's going to be interesting to see how each stage of your cabin fits together!

  3. I look forward to seeing the cabin come together, and you look cute on the carousel.

  4. What a fun outing! I haven't been to an amusement park since the kids were little. Cute picture of you on the Merry-go-round! Enjoy your weekend.

  5. Lovely photos indeed and looks like a nice outing.

  6. Good morning, I love the cute horses and the first image is a pretty scene. The carousel shot is cute too. Looks like the group had a fun outing. Have a happy day and weekend ahead!

  7. Looks like you had a couple of very busy days.Your photo of the old cabin is wonderful! We just got back from our morning walk and it was sunny and around 60 degrees.

  8. Missed reading Wed's blog. Thanks for filling in the blanks! You look lovely on the carousel. Y'all be careful climbing around on that cabin. Mary Jo

  9. Fun Land sounds great! I'm glad your temps are so nice there that you can sit outside comfortably -- esp. the older folks. 58º? That's fabulous. I can't wait for autumn and those temps again :)
I'm glad the cabin is coming along so fast -- that's exciting! I can't wait to see how it looks. As we study out how we want to build our cob house, it seems to important (at least down here) how the roof line and eaves are situated -- letting in light, or giving shade, to particular wall faces at particular times of year, b/c of the sun. But since y'all are in so much woodland shade, maybe that doesn't matter so much there. Looking really good!!

  10. Your church group sure does know how to have fun. You look great on the carousel. So happy and fit.
Which reminds me, thanks for your encouraging comments on my post yesterday. You have always been a huge inspiration to me in the fitness department.

  11. Hi Karen, Nice progress up at HT. That picture of the Drane cabin is interesting. I wonder if it has been given historical protection?

  12. Wow, that is going to be nice! Lucky I am not building it, your move in date would be 2027 if that were the case! ;^)

You look happy on the Merry-Go-Round!

  13. Your building project is very interesting to watch. Did you have to apply for permission to build. Here in the UK it can take years to get planning permission if you want to build a house and you even have to get permission to change a porch or build a garage. Your carousel looks fun. When our yearly fair comes to town my friend and I only go on the old fashioned merry-go-round which is quite high off the ground.

  14. Looks like good progress is being made on the cabin. - Enjoyed seeing you there on the Carousel, those are so fun. Loved the shot of the horses in the field.

Hello my friend.
Thanks for stopping by.
I'm hoping you will leave a comment.
Thanks. : )
