The first daisy has popped out in my yard, with many more close behind.
These are at the end of the driveway.

No morning walk for me today. I had to report to the courthouse for jury duty first thing this morning. As I was sitting there waiting for everyone to get there, I looked up and saw Jackie, a friend from church walk in the door. Nice to see a familiar face there. : ) I wasn't the only one there she knew, her uncle, an old schoolmate and someone who is the mother of classmate of her sons were there as well. I guess it is like that in a small community.
This first time was just an orientation and lasted 1 1/2 hours. Everything was explained to us, saw a video, went to the courtroom, and was introduced to the judge. This is a first for me and I know most people try to get out of it but I'm looking forward to it. I think it will be a good learning experience. I was surprised by how long this will last though. Have to call in once a week until the middle of September to see if I will be needed that week.

Not all of the sunflower seeds I planted have come up but there are 10 that are doing pretty good. These three here are doing the best and getting pretty big.
We spent the afternoon destroying a very old piano. I know it sounds awful to destroy it but it was in very bad shape and not worth saving. We did save parts of it though. The piano was out in the barn at church and Ken volunteered to get rid of it. Man was that thing heavy. We were able to save some of the wood for someone and Ken has some idea to make some kind of a wind chime out of parts of it to hang up at HT. The rest we put on our our dump pile at HT.
A lot of times on a Monday we go to Brenda's for pizza but today we just went to Annie's Kitchen here in town and had club sandwiches for supper. They are big and I only can eat half of one and the other half I took home.
We've had a beautiful sunny day - so nice after so much rain.
I was planning on going for an evening walk but I never did. I'll have to take a little longer walk in the morning. : ) Now I'm going to go sit out on the porch for a while. Looking forward to my ice cream later on. The last few days I've had chocolate marshmallow. Ran out of the chip mint.
Hope your day was a happy one.
happyone : )
MK - Sorry it's taken me a while to answer your questions. Yes, I have a little bowl of ice cream almost every evening. I look forward to it and it helps me not eat other goodies during the rest of the day, knowing I have that ice cream coming.
I see a few people once in a while on my walks but it's is usually just me and the animals. I leave at 6:30 so maybe it is too early for most people and they go later in the day. I live in a very small community so maybe there just aren't that many people around. : ) Whatever the reason, I like it that way. : )

I love the daisy, one of my favorite summer flowers. I hope to have some sunflowers grow as volunteers. Your jury duty is different there, usually we get called for one day or however long a trail last if you are picked. Have a happy day and new week ahead!
Looks like there are going to be a lot of daisy's!
Saw my first daisy today, too. You're going to get a lot of them, Mine wasn't doing well in the garden so I pitched it into the luge. Seems to like it there.
Jury duty, eh? I would hate it, but you are a very good citizen doing your civic responsibility.
Oh the piano story is sad, but I think good things will come of its bits and pieces.
Your daisies look very healthy and plentiful.
I can't wait to see that wind chime. You will show the finished project, I hope.
You have a good attitude about jury duty. I have never heard of having to call in for that many weeks. Should be an interesting experience.
Love your daisies. Ours are just blooming too.your sunflowers look great. Very interesting about jury duty. We had a beautiful day here too.
Your daisies are nice. Our black-eyed Susans are just about ready to bloom, and then they take over! Interestingly enough, I have never been called for jury duty, but our son who is 20 got called this year. He had to do like you and call once a week from the middle of January through March. On the last week in March he got called for duty, but he was only there one day and that trial ended up being dismissed.
Thanks for your reply, K :) I've never been on a jury, although I've been contacted at least twice. Both times it did not work out. I do think it's very time-consuming, and it's good for folks who have the time to do it. I feel bad for people who have to miss work, and lose pay, in order to serve, but it's an important part of our political responsibility.
Looking really nice indeed.
Love when the daisies bloom... so summer-y!
Proud of you for doing your civic duty, and reporting for jury duty. Best of luck to you.
Smiles :)

I love that daisy, simple, yet so beautiful. Daisies truly are the flowers of summer, aren't they. Loved the Psalm quote too.
I've never been on a jury. I had to call in a few times but never got picked.
