Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Bird Houses

The iris in the picture from yesterday are not in my yard as some of you thought.  They are in a neighbors yard down the street.  Wish they were in my yard. : )

It was warm and cloudy this morning and 62 degrees when I walked.  Went on over to the industrial park in town.  It is nicer than it sounds.  Not many buildings there and plenty of green grass and fields.  That is part of town over there in the distance.
Then walked back to the main road.   Rick was watering the plants at his gas station and I stopped for a little chat.
Then continued walking through town.
Walked around one of the cemeteries, around the loop at the ball park and back home again.
Saw Lisa out running this morning.  Used to see her all the time in the morning but now I usually see her run past my house later in the day.

As always I enjoyed my morning walk.
Walked 5.3 miles.

I see by your comments on yesterday's post that a couple of you have remembered it was my birthday (the real Memorial Day) today and I thank you for the birthday greetings.
I certainly don't feel my age but now I'm the age of the Beetle's song.  : )

Ken got home from his get-a-way just before lunch time.  He had a great time.

It's been a pretty sunny day, though we did have a few rain showers this afternoon.  We've spent most of the afternoon sitting out on the porch.  A nice relaxing day.  Plan on going out to eat in a little while.

A happy day to you, my friends.

Thanks for the comments about the new look of my blog.  Don't usually go with a green color.  Thought it would be nice for a change.

Glad Ken got home for the big day, and glad he had a great time.

Come July, that same song is going to be at the top of my hit parade, too! :^)
