Back to walking in a few layers of clothing this morning. The temperature was only 35 degrees but the sun was out shinning so it was actually nice and good walking weather. It was up to 42 by the time I was back home and by afternoon it was in the 60's.I walked around town and then down the main road towards HT, turned around after a bit and walked back to town. Walked some more around down, around the ball park loop, and the cemeteries.
I didn't see the rabbits at the cemetery but did see one hopping around in the parking lot of the car dealer looking at all the cars. Wonder which one he likes best? : )
I saw Kathy today but not walking this time, she drove past me in her car. Didn't see anyone else out walking.
Another day for finding coins. 2 pennies this time.
I walked 5.4 miles.

Ken went up to HT first thing this morning but I had to stay home and get some things done around the house. He came home for lunch and after lunch I went back with him up to HT. In the morning Ken got the two front footings dug.
In the afternoon we inserted the tubes, measured a million times (slight exaggeration) and got them filled with 4 feet of cement as well. Then did some back filling and picking up some rocks. Here Ken sits at the end of the work day right in the middle of our cabin. : )
Back home the sunflowers seeds I planted a couple of weeks ago in front of the dining room windows have sprouted. All eight have sprouted. The others I planted around the yard have all sprouted too. I don't even remember all the places I planted some.
It was so nice to get home and take a shower. A nice shower after a hard day of work should never be taken for granted. : ) It is one of life's pleasures.
So here we sit at home, ready for a relaxing evening once again.
Life is Good.
Hope your day has been a happy one.

One of the most tragic things I know about human nature
is that all of us tend to put off living.
We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon
instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming
outside our windows today.

Comment Replies:Vee - We aren't planning on having the cabin as a guest house but I guess it could be. It is going to be pretty rough though, and won't have running water and you need a 4 wheel vehicle to get up the driveway. The reason we are building the cabin is for fun and a place where we can get out of the weather when we are up there. The idea of Happy Trails is to have our own personal park. : ) It will be a project that we will be working on for the rest of our lives. I can't see it ever being completely done.

Oh, I am sure you measured a million times! That seems to be the number to use when working on projects.:-)
We have had cooler mornings for the past few days. I like it! It sounds like your walks are becoming more profitable.:-)
Have a great night!
I'm even more impressed! That's probably the hardest physical work of building the cabin done! At least in my experience.
It is cold here in the morning too. I guess a brisk walk in the cold weather feels good. Your Ken looks good sitting in that spot. Our neighbors built their log home themselves, it is beautiful. Have a happy Friday!
I wondered why you were doing so much work on a place so close to your house. Now I know. What a wonderful idea...your own personal park and a lifetime of fun goals.
We have been having some cooler mornings here too. I prefer them for walking as I know shortly it will be warm. I love sunflowers! Do you know what kind they are? Have a great weekend.
Great progress on the cabin and on the sunflowers! Mary Jo
Brett has been in your neck of the woods (I think) all week with my computer, hence my lack of blogging this week. He's in PA, but said it is right near the MD border. He told me yesterday that he only brought short sleeved shirts and no jacket and was rather cold in the morning when it was in the 40s.
Anyhow, I have now used my work computer to get caught up with you. Your cabin appears to have an abundance of fresh air :). So sorry to learn the fate of the robin's nest. Loved seeing the signs of spring around you, especially the frogs.
Your own personal park...a perpetual project! You guys love to be active and busy so it works.
Stay away from raccoons!
I am really excited about your cabin being underway. And yes, there will always be a project or two up there for both of you.
