Today I walked the Farm Loop. Some of the fields have been plowed and are getting ready for planting.
I was out walking a little earlier than usual and some the cows at the dairy farm were just walking out of the barn to the field. I always enjoy seeing the cows.
There were a few killdeers out running along the side of the road. It makes me smile to see them running along so fast when they could easily fly away.
Once back to town, I walked a loop around town and the ball park loop and then back home.
I walked 5.6 miles.

Ken left to go to an auction in WV with a friend. I would have liked to have gone along too but they were leaving early in the morning and I wanted to walk first. It is every Friday so Ken and I will go another time. Besides I really needed to get some house cleaning done. Made some bread too and then it was lunch time.It was too pretty outside to stay inside so after lunch I went outside.
I was cleaning leaves out of the outside stairwell from the basement and was about half way down the stairs when a bird flew out from the bottom. I didn't think anything of it but when I got down by the door I discovered this. : )
I'm so glad I haven't been using the outside door and now I won't be for a while. As you can see it's a long way down there. After I took this pictures I went back outside and put some more leaves in around the nest. It just seemed too open sitting there.
When I got tired of doing work outside in the yard, I sat on the front porch and read. It's shady on the porch in the afternoon and there was a slight breeze. It seemed like a summer day.
Ken came home late afternoon and the only thing he got at the aution was an old window for $1. He had a good time though and met quite a few interesting people.
After supper we went to Shop and Save because they were having their 4 for $10 Hagan Ice Cream sale so we bought 8 of them and are now stocked up again.
All day I kept thinking it was Saturday and now I have another one tomorrow. : )

How exciting to have a bird's nest so near! It will be great to see what hatches!
Lovely views from your walk! Looks like you may have some baby robins soon.. Enjoy your weekend, happy Mother's Day!
Love that sweet discovery :). I would have never guessed they would set up housekeeping on the ground like that, but they must have felt very safe and secure in your stairwell. How fun this is going to be to keep track of the progress.
Happy Saturday.
What a nice surprise in your stairwell! I enjoyed reading about your day. It always makes me smile. I also love your quote for the week. Happy Mother's Day to you. Enjoy your weekend!
The Robin's nest is lovely. We have one in a birch tree outside our bedroom window. The Robin's are slowly getting accustomed to us walking underneath the tree. Have a great Mother's Day!
You'll have a good view of what's going on in the nest. Mr. and Mrs. Robin chose an interesting location for sure.
You would think that a raccoon or skunk would make short work of those eggs. What a pretty color.
Love that the birds live right at your doorstep! Mary Jo
That little bird nest is just adorable. Loved your pretty pink flowering tree shot.
