Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

A day outside

♥     ♥     ♥     ♥

It was 46 degrees and sunny this morning when I went on my walk.

Dropped off the water bill down the slot at public works and then walked on over to the post office and put the mail down the slot.

My walk today was around town including the two cemeteries and the loop around the ball park.
I saw a rabbit over by the cemetery hopping around.  Kathy was out walking too but was too far away so we just waved.

This must be the grave of a little dog named Timm W.  I've never seen it before so he must have been buried recently.  Such sad eyes.
Most mornings I see Joe driving the town truck around but this morning he drove past me 4 times!!

I can't believe how many Red Winged Black birds I see around here.  They are all over the place, but I've not seen one at my bird feeders yet.

A beautiful morning for walking and I walked 5.4 miles.

Another busy day working out in the yard.  Have to take advantage of these beautiful days.

I've been wanting to put stone under my clothes line because the grass is usually wet when I hang up the clothes and my feet always get wet.  So today we went and got a trailer load of stone.
Here's the before picture.
We put plastic down on the grass and then Ken used the tractor to dump the stone on the plastic.  I spread it around and then spread some of the mulch we had left from the other day around the edges where some shrubs are.
After a days work this is the after picture.
While I was doing this Ken took a load of stone up to Happy Trails and spread it up there on the road going up to where the cabin will be.  Tomorrow, weather permitting we will get some more loads of stone for Happy Trails.

Looking forward to just sitting in the chair this evening, eating ice cream, making some weave-it squares and watching a little television.

Hope your day was a happy one.

Vee - No, the Drane House garden is not for public use.  I think Sherry just has the garden there because that is probably what their garden was like back when the Drane's lived there.  Not sure who gets the produce from the garden.  I'll have to ask her and let you know.

  1. I absolutely love that first picture with all the reflections.

  2. I love the reflections, too. Very neat job under the clothes line. You two think of everything, and then you make it happen! Thanks for the daily ray of sunshine I get from your blogs. Mary Jo

  3. What a nice place for that clothesline! You are out early with the laundry if the grass is still wet. That means the clothes will be dry earlier in the day, and they will have that great odor of the outdoors!

  4. That looks like an ideal set up for your clothesline. The clothes must smell so nice on these fresh spring days.

  5. No more wet feet at the clothesline! You made quick work of that.

  6. Beautiful reflection shot. So glad you had another great day.. We are having some rain today, I hope it is better weather later in the day.. have a happy one!

  7. The light is so beautiful in that first shot...just lovely! I like the clothesline area with the stones. We have a little (much smaller than yours) stone project going here, too.

  8. Sounds like a great day. I enjoyed your photos, as always.
