Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Working outside

The town pond yesterday morning.  It was only 31 degrees
but it warmed up in the high 50's and was sunny during the day.

It was 50 degrees with clouds and then sun came on my morning walk.  First went to the library and dropped a book off in the slot and on to the post office to mail a few things.  Then it was off to walking around the Farm Loop.

It was a beautiful morning for walking and I sure enjoyed being outside.  Didn't encounter any people at all so had the whole countryside to myself.

Some of the cows over at the diary farm were out in the field.  A few were eating, one was standing on top of a little hill, and a few were lying down in the grass and these are some BIG looking cows.  I like that the cows can choose either to stay in the barn or go out in the field. : )
A few pictures I took while walking along.

 I walked 5.4 miles.

It was a very nice spring sunny day so we spent the day outside working in the yard again.  In the morning we put boards (still using the old boards from the old deck) along the outside of the walkway around the raised garden boxes.  Then we took the trailer and went to the stone place
and got a trailer full of stone ( 2 1/2 tons).
We put plastic down between the the boards and the garden boxes and then put the stone on top of the plastic.  This is how much we got done today.  Have to go back for more stone.
It was hard work hauling all the stone and we are both pretty tired after doing that all afternoon.  So nice to come inside and take a shower.  Gives you renewed energy.  : )  Then we headed out to Ledo's for pizza for supper.

Monday's are usually days I do my exercise Body Electric CD but I figured with all the moving stone around, I already had enough exercise for this day.

It will be nice to have a nice relaxing evening at home.

Hope your day was sunny and bright and you smiled often.

you should smell like dirt.

I'd say you got your workout in by hauling that stone àround! That is hard work!

Hi Karen, Your garden area is looking good. My, you guys are hard workers.
Christina brought a get well card to Sunday School and everyone signed it and I stuck it in the mail to your mom this morning. I imagine her mailbox is pretty full most days. Sure hope she is doing better. Mary Jo

Hi Happyone, I love the photo at the pond with the fog. One question about your garden: Why are you putting the rock around the raised planters? I wondered if you are trying to get more heat into the ground around the planters?

Oh yes, I'd say you definitely could skip the workout. You and Ken seem to have no limit to your energy.
The garden is looking really nice. It looks so pretty in your neighborhood.

Ack! I deleted the email with your mama's name and address. Can you send it to me again? I'm going to draw her a picture (well, doodle her a picture!)
Yum! Pizza sounds good!

You get plenty of exercise, I'd say.

Don't you love seeing the spring flowers? What a treat for our eyes!

Oh I never worry about your getting enough exercise, Karen. Nope. Not a concern at all.

That sounds like a LOT of work, not just a workout. I hope you aren't too sore tomorrow.
