Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Lasagna in a loaf pan

This is not from my yard but it is the first daffodil I've seen blooming on my walk.

50 degrees again this morning and cloudy as I headed out for my walk.  Dropped off the water bill down the slot at public works and then went down the main road past the HT turn off for a bit and then turned around and walked back to town.

Walked round the two cemeteries and ball park and then headed home.

The same man from yesterday was fishing in the little town pond.  I've seen them stock the pond so I guess he's catching fish there.  I saw a couple of red-winged black birds and a woodpecker too.

Nice to know that spring is here and I'll be able to walk outside now for months and months and not to have to worry about snow and it being too cold. : )

I walked 6.2 miles.

I finished the last few weave-it squares on the baby blanket last night and have started sewing it together.  Should be done in a few days.

After lunch we went for a little ride exploring some of the back roads that we've never been on before.  Fun to see where they come out.  We stopped at McDonald's and got ice cream cones.  Simple pleasures during the day.  : )

I made lasagna for supper.  I've been craving some since last week when we were gone.  I use the no boil noodles which makes it super easy to make and I always wonder why I don't make this more often for supper.  I made it a bit different today.  I only had 6 of the lasagna sheets so didn't have enough to make layers in a baking dish.  So I made it in a loaf pan with 6 layers of one lasagna sheet per layer.  We each had a pretty good sized portion and there is one more serving for a lunch.

No ice cream snack tonight since we had some earlier.  I will have a little something though but not sure what.

Just another Thank You for the cards for my mom. : )  I'm hearing from people telling me they have sent off cards already. Some people having trouble finding my email address so here it is:  redc5@myway.com

Hope your day has been a happy one.

A sure sign that spring is on the horizon.
Brett and I stopped at McDonald's for ice cream both ways on our recent trip. It helped to break up the long drive.
What a lovely thought to think of your mom receiving cards from so many kind and caring folks. I'm planning to put one in the mail tomorrow. Have received the address from you. Thanks.

Our daffodils are on the wane, and the tulips are in full bloom! Love those no-boil lasagna noodles! I think the loaf pan was a marvelous idea! Love leftovers, too.:-)

Never has a little cheery yellow daffodil been so welcomed! I would faint if I saw one here. I am just back from mailing a card. =D Course I didn't walk to the PO as you would have done. Hope that your mom is doing even better than can be expected!

A loaf pan sounds like a nice size. I like the no-boil noodles, too. Wish they came in a whole-grain variety. Thanks for sharing your email address--and the reminder. Since I aggravated my back, everything else seems to have slipped my mind!
