It was hard leaving Albany knowing my mom was still in the hospital, but it is so very nice to be back home. We left early this morning and got home at 4:30. Feels like we've been gone a month instead of just a week. I haven't done any exercise all week and look forward to taking a walk tomorrow morning and getting back into a routine. I did walk home from the hospital a few times during the week but that was only 3 city blocks.
Thank you all so much for all those kind, caring and encouraging comments yesterday. Even though my dad is 84 years old himself he is in good health and shape so he will be able to care for my mom once she gets back home. Just hoping that she will be able to get back home. They won't let her out of rehab until she can get around again some on her own. My dad has lots of support back home too. They too are part of a good caring church family and will have lots of help.
We left last week in the snow and when we left this morning we had some off and on snow showers!!! During the ride home it cleared up and we had mostly a sunny day and when we arrived home there was no sign of snow.
We've unpacked and are ready for a nice relaxing evening.
Poor Ken. He picked up a cold and is not feeling tip top today. Ironic because we've washed our hands more times this week than ever before!!!
Thanks again everyone!!
A happy day to you my friends.

Welcome home! I am glad you had a safe trip back. I am sure it was hard leaving your mom and step-dad, but I am glad to know that he is good health and will be able to care for her once she gets back home. One day at a time will get the job done in rehab.
Sorry to hear that your husband is getting a cold. Will be remembering him in prayer, too.
Happy Resurrection Day tomorrow!

Glad to know your dad is ok enough to care for your mom, and has the local support he needs- the caregiver always needs more support than we realize!
I'm glad you are safely home! Have a happy Easter!
Glad you two made it home. That's so reassuring to know your folks have a great support system in place,
Hope Ken is able to get some good rest and feeling well again very soon.
May you two enjoy a blessed Easter.

Welcome home & Happy Easter. I hope your Mom recovers quickly. And I hope your Ken feels better soon.. Have a great day!
Happy Easter to you. Glad you are back home. Have a relaxing day and enjoy your walk.
I'm glad you made it home safe and sound, and I hope Ken is soon feeling better.
It's hard to maintain an exercise program on the road. Glad you're home--and no snow to welcome you! Hope Ken's bug ends quickly.
I'm so happy to hear your mom is doing better. I can't believe it's April and it's still snowing! It will be in the 80's here tomorrow. Thinking of you! Can't wait to see some spring pictures from you!
Oops. I got behind on the news. I'm relieved to know you're home and can get back to your usual routine. It really is amazing that your mom is doing ok considering her condition. I'm sorry she's confused. I hope that she will become more clear once she gets better physically. This was quite a jolt for her. Hope Ken feels better soon. I know your church friends were so glad to see you! Mary Jo
Glad you got home OK. I know it feels hard to be away from your mother, combined with feeling good to be home. That is good that they are not going to send your mom home too soon. Glad to hear that.
