Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The snow has returned

Looking out the window from my office this morning at 7:15.
It snowed all night and was still snowing when I got up and it was 20 degrees so I walked my 6 miles inside today. Thought about walking outside but thought I'd just be in the way of the snow plows and besides it was kind of deep to walk in.

Ken is going to a church event for men on Saturday and I volunteered to bake two cakes for him to take.  I made them today, a spice cake and a chocolate one.  I cheated though and used box mixes.

It has been snowing all day but when there was a little bit of a break mid afternoon we went outside.  Ken used the snow blower to clear the driveway today because it was more than a few inches and it was heavy.  I went around with the shovel and cleared a path to both the front and back doors.  By the time we went back in the house it was snowing again.  We got about a foot of snow and we are now living in a winter wonderland once again.

We will have a nice cozy evening inside where it is toasty warm thanks to our two pellet stoves.  Supposed to get in the single digits tonight but a warm up is expected by the weekend.

Hope your day was a happy one.

It's so beautiful! As for the cake, cheat away! Sometimes you just have to and will the guys really know the difference? :-)

My first thought was poor you, more snow. But weather is something we can't control so really it is just a matter of making the best of it, isn't it. At least you got outside yesterday for a while :)

It truly is a wintery wonderland. As much as I am ready for spring scene like what you have posted are just gorgeous.

We got more sleet and ice than snow, so our yard doesn't look nearly as beautiful as yours. On the other hand, I haven't had much to shovel.

Oh, Iove that quote! How beautiful the snow looks! We had sleet earlier in the day, then some snow showers in the afternoon that really love that ice base! Great for you for baking those cakes!

The snow is so pretty but I'll bet you've had enough for a while. I used to have a wood stove and loved it ... the heat was so nice and even. Thank you for your kind comments on my blog. Have an excellent weekend.

I love your snowy pictures and I will now go and get my Bible and read Psalm 143. The verse you posted helped me. Thank you.

Yours truly is a winter wonderland. We like the box cake mixes; we have cake more often that way! Mary Jo

Your bird house photo is so beautiful. I saved it and (hope it's ok with you) posted it on Facebook. I just had to share its beauty. I noted that it was taken by a blog friend. Thanks for all your wonderful posts.
