Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Spring is on its way

Another shot of our wee pond up at HT.

Woke up a bit earlier than yesterday and was out of the house at 7:10.  I'll eventually get back to my 6:30 walking time.   It was 38 degrees, with no wind and cloudy and still dark when I left. I walked the Farm Loop.
My horse friends Grace and Faith at Farmer Bill's Farm.  They stopped eating a moment to look me but didn't come over to the fence.
Some mallards on one of the farm ponds.
And I saw my first Robin.  Picture not very good but like that it is a Robin. : )
It was nice to hear the birds happily chirping.  Saw some sparrows, starlings around and some geese fly overhead.  Spring is in the air.

Some bad timing on my part walking back down the hill to town because the school is there and the buses were getting there as well as parents in cars so there was a lot of traffic.  The road has no shoulders and I had to keep going into the field and peoples yards to get out of the way.  Once safely down the hill and I walked around both cemeteries and then headed home.
I walked 6.2 miles.

Forgot to mention yesterday that Baby Cohen is doing great.  He was in church on Sunday. : )

We watched another good movie last night, Dreamer.  A down and out horse trainer rescues a once great racehorse that has been injured.  Buoyed by the unwavering faith of his young daughter, he sets out to win the Breeder's Cup Classic.
A good movie for the whole family.

It started raining mid morning and has been raining all day.  We went out after lunch and did a few errands.

I finished knitting the blue and yellow scarf I've been working on and will get it in the mail to a friend of mine in the next couple of days.  I have something else to add to the package - some chocolate chippers that I have to bake yet.

That's it for today.  Hope your day has been a happy one.

John - The building in the picture is the tractor barn that we built.  We've also built a wood shop on our land too.  No, we don't plan to live in our cabin.  It's just to be a little one roomed dry cabin to have a place out of the weather when we're there.

These nice mornings are great for getting people motivated and moving! Love hearing the birds singing in the mornings. We've been seeing (and hearing) robins for close to a month now and it is always something that excites us...even when the snow falls heavy. We know that spring truly is in the air.

Have a great evening!

Yay! So happy that spring is on it's way :)

Glad you had a good day, and stayed safe on your walk... even though you had to dodge traffic.

Smiles :)

I love the pic of the pond! Is it a natural pond or manmade? The water is so clear. I bet you will have a lot of animal friends stopping by for a cool drink this year.

I prefer my daylight in the mornings, although it is cool to be up and watch daylight arrive. Soon you will be walking in daylight - hopefully! Fog here this morning (Wednesday) as well as rain.

My niece in GA sent pictures of daffodils blooming there. Birds are chirping here, too. Thank goodness for spring. This is the first time I remember your being near traffic while walking up there. Glad you were careful! Mary Jo

So glad to read that little Cohen is doing well. What a relief for his family and church family.
