The ice has melted on the town pond and the geese have arrived.

It was a chilly 20 degrees this morning and windy when I left for my walk and still dark at 6:40. But I did get to see the start of a brand new day with a beautiful sky.
I walked around town a couple of times including the two cemeteries and the ball park loop. Also walked around the town pond. Yesterday the grass around it was all soggy but this morning it was frozen again so I could walk there.
Didn't see any other people out walking and only took this two pictures and then my battery went dead on my camera. I may have mentioned this before but I get a kick out of when it says 'battery exhausted' on the screen.
I walked 6.2 miles.

I called my mother this morning to tell her I loved her and that so many people would be praying for her tomorrow morning when she has her surgery. She is very calm and not worried and feels peaceful knowing she is in God's hands. She thanks you for all the prayers. Her and my step-dad are driving down to Albany (100 miles away) today and will be staying at the hotel across the street from the hospital. She has to be at the hospital at 6:00 AM and will have her surgery at 8:30 AM. By the way my mom's name is Ida.
David and the kids were here in the morning and after lunch they loaded up the car and with a few tears shed went on their way. So nice having them here a few days. I even liked sharing my ice cream with them. : )
Very quiet around the house this afternoon. I sat and did a little knitting.
Glad it was a church night. : )
Hope your day has been a happy one.

A rose can say "I love you,"
orchids can entrall,
but a weed bouquet in a chubby fist,
yes, that says it all.

Very pretty pictures from your walk today.
I was about ready to call it a night on the computer when I saw your post pop up. Glad I came over as I am reminded to say an extra prayer for your mom tonight. She (and you) will be in my thoughts tomorrow and I pray that all goes smoothly for her.
Goodnight and God Bless.
I am sending positive thoughts your way and for your mom!
Prayers for your mom, step-dad, and you. And sending hugs to you because I know what it's like to have your mom undergo open heart surgery and recovery time. (My mom had it done twice - but not the same problem as your mom.)
Very pretty pictures today, particularly the sunrise.

Praying for your Mom (and you) this morning.
Praying for your mom as she undergoes her surgery today (Thursday morning). It was good to hear that she was peaceful and calm when you spoke with her yesterday morning.
I understand how "quiet" a house is after loved ones leave...especially when there are young ones.
Hope you have a good day today and will look forward to hearing good results about your mom's surgery when you post today.
Prayers for your mom! Sounds like she is a brave lady. Hope to hear a good report in your next post.
Saying prayers for Aunt Ida. Hope all goes well with the surgery. When you speak to her let her know that I was praying and thinking about her.
Thinking of you and your mom and praying that all went well. Family love is such a precious thing, I too feel heartbroken at the end of a family visit but at least I know they'll be back one day.
I'm thinking if you and your mom and praying all went well this morning. God bless.
Beautiful pictures.
Sending get well soon wishes to your mom.
Our house always gets too quiet when guests leave. Hoping your mom does well. She has had excellent health all her life. It will serve her well now, I am sure.
I am late reading this, Karen. I hope you have had a good report about your mom's surgery. Yes, the house really feels quiet after our special company leaves. It is no surprise to read that there were some tears shed at your house on Wednesday. Sending hugs!
Thinking of you. I know that goodbyes are sad especially with Oklahoma so far away.
