This is the last of my porcelain birds.
It is a small one, only 4 inches tall and says Japan on the bottom.
It was Ken's grandmothers.

Still another day I walked my 6 miles down in the basement. Though the sun was out and it was 18 degrees it was very windy. There is a warm up coming and I look forward to walking outside once again next week. I'm hoping I won't have to walk inside again until next winter. : )
Ken has been gone all day precipitating in the Sportsmen's Wild Game Dinner with church. Though he doesn't hunt he helped set things up and drove the shuttle bus. I got to spend the day on my own while he's been gone and though I didn't do anything special it was nice to have the house to myself.
I've been reading Bertie's Guide to Life and Mothers by Alexander McCall Smith which is one of the books in the 44 Scotland Street series. Today I realized that my book club meets this coming Wednesday and I haven't even started reading the book for that yet. So I stopped reading Bertie and started on A Sudden Light by Garth Stein. It is pretty good so far.
We watched a good movie last night on Netflix called The Magic of Belle Isle. Monte Wildhorn played by Morgan Freeman is an alcoholic who has lost his enthusiasm for writing. He finds it again after moving to Belle Isle and gets to know his neighbors. Really good and has a great ending.
Since I had supper on my own I made a breakfast for supper. Pancakes. : ) I usually have one but since this was supper I had two. I put a few mini chocolate chips in the batter and topped it off with some syrup and whipped cream. My supper turned into a dessert and I sure did enjoy it.
Hope all is well with you and you had a happy day.

Hi Happyone, The low sun shining through the trees ... beautiful! Pancakes with chocolate chips in the batter ... delicious! Have a happy Sunday. John
I think Morgan Freeman is a really good actor! Like the quote at the end of your post. We had temps in the low sixties here today, and the week ahead is quite springlike. Breakfast for supper! Love it!
Just looking at your pancakes makes me hungry!
Supper looks divine! I can't wait for the snow to melt. I am looking forward to your beautiful spring pictures!
I bought a new pair of Nike's yesterday. You have inspired me to get back out and start walking again. With the weather turning warmer, I won't be such a baby! Thanks for the inspiration!
I love the shot of the sun shining through the trees..And your pancakes do look like dessert, yum! Sounds like a great movie! Have a happy Sunday!
Your birds today just might be my favorites. I love the petite size and the special memories associated with Ken's grandmother.
Thanks for the movie suggestion. I went and watched the trailer and it looks really good. I'm writing it down so I can remember it next time we rent a movie.
Your supper looks yummy.
Hope you are able to get outside and walk this week.
Your supper looks yummy! My husband especially enjoys breakfast foods for supper. :)
I'm also looking forward to this warm up that is headed our way for this week!
I love your porcelain bird collection! Breakfast for dinner is one of my favorites. You inspire me so I may put that on the menu this week. Hope your weather warms up there.
Happy Sabbath to you!
It is special to have treasures that belonged to those we loved, except as BJ says, "I'd rather have my loved one." Course after a certain while in these old bods, we get tired and are ready to move on. Ohhhh...thank you for the movie suggestion. It sounds good!
Just finished watching the movie! A pretty good feel good movie, especially the end! But who plants pumpkins from seeds in August for an October harvest?! Magical thinkers, that's who!
=D
I LOVED "The Magic of Belle Isle!"
