Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another set back

☺     ☺     ☺     ☺
35 degrees this morning and cloudy when I left on my walk.  It felt like rain but it never did.  I walked down the main road just past the turn off for HT and turned around
and went back to town and walked up and down the street.  They have started cleaning the gravel up around town spread around for the snow.  It was so thick on the sidewalks that you couldn't tell there was cement sidewalks.
Walked around the cemeteries and the ball park too.  Didn't see Kathy this morning but I did see her car in the parking lot so she was around somewhere.

I walked 6.2 miles.

I've been on the telephone quite a few times today with my step-dad.  My mother has had another setback.  She fell last night and broke her hip and is back in the hospital.  They are transferring her back to Albany tomorrow where she will have to have surgery to fix her hip.  But in order for her to have the surgery they have to do a quick fix to her heart or she can't have the surgery on her hip.
We are going up there tomorrow to be with her and my step-dad.
So please keep her in your prayers.   It means so much to know you are praying for us.
Will post when I can.

The quote sums it up pretty well, especially at times like this.

Oh my. What a lot to deal with. May you know His presence, feel it, be comforted by it. And may your mother and step-dad know them as well. These things are so troubling and surprising to us, yet God is not flustered and not surprised. He will carry you through. Many prayers coming your way.

Sorry Karen to hear about your Mom. Glad you and hubby are going up there to check on her. That would mean so much to her --and to you. I remember when I lived in Texas and my Mother was ill in Florida... That was SO hard for me since it was hard for me to get away to visit her. Very Stressful....

God be with you and have a safe trip...
Hugs and Prayers,
Betsy
