Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A rainy walk

☂     ☂     ☂     ☂
Temperature warmed up and it rained all during the night and was still raining in the morning.  It was 40 degrees so I put on my rain pants, yellow slicker, and also took along the umbrella and out I went walking.  It poured during my whole walk but I sure didn't mind because I was outside. : )  It has been a while since I walked in the rain and it was nice to hear the rain on my umbrella.  I stayed dry expect for my feet which got soaked.

I first walked over to the post office and mailed off a couple of cards and then just walked all around town a couple of times.  Didn't see anyone else out.  It was a soggy mess out there and most of the snow is gone. Some pictures along my walk.

I walked 6 miles.

I've spent another day at home doing this and that around the house like yesterday.  Got a lot of the current puzzle done.

It rained all day long and was still raining when we left for church after supper.  The temperature was 37 when we left and 32 when we got home and the rain has now turned to snow.  Wonder how much snow there will be in the morning.

When I get done here I'll go and have my snack.  No ice cream this evening.  I'm going to eat the last Black and White while watching an episode of Upstairs, Downstairs.

Hope your day has been a happy one.

Vee - Since we haven't lived here many winters (this is number 2) I can't say what is usual.  I read some of my blog posts from last March and it is pretty much the same as this year.  In March the weather can go either way.  The locals say this is how winter is.

How good that you were able to get out in that sogginess and walk outside! Our snow is all gone, but we have ice, sleet, and snow in our forecast for overnight and tomorrow. I much prefer snow to ice, and am not looking forward to those icy conditions.

I also love rainy walks, especially in the spring, preferably with no downpours!

Really, really like that first picture. When you leave town you are out in the country immediately. That is very nice! Have a good day!

You are quite the deciated walker. I don't mind walking in the rain but I prefer it to be a warm rain. It's nice that most of your snow is gone (I hope the new storm didn't bring too much.)

That first day outside is refreshing! After my trek to the post office box that resulted in cold, wet feet, I ordered waterproof hiking boots. I wore them on Sunday's park visit, not knowing how muddy it might be after the snow melted. It wasn't as wet as I expected, but my feet stayed warm and dry.
