Ken's mom collected porcelain birds and I have a few of them.
This Robin is the oldest one and I don't know anything about it
except that I like it. : )

I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but today was very cold, windy and snowing. Another walk in the basement. Not getting out to walk, I don't get out to take pictures so I walked around the house seeing what I could photograph and I came up with the porcelain bird. I have a few more so you might be seeing some more of them for the next few days. : )I've been home all day today. Didn't even go outside to shovel the driveway because it never stopped snowing. Did some things around the house and then I knitted on a rippled scarf that I started last night. This is a third of it done. I'll knit these same colors two times more. I'm knitting it for a friend and it is a surprise. : )
A regular evening at home. Ice cream, knitting, reading and a little television.
Hope your day has been a happy one.

Comment replies:Diana - My pastor and his wife had a great time and loved New Zealand. Sunday night we will be seeing pictures and hearing all about their trip. : )
Thank you all for the prayers for my mom. : ) The oxygen is a big help with her breathing. Still waiting for the appointment with the surgeon. I will keep you posted.

That is certainly a pretty porcelain robin! I like the scarf. I know very little about knitting, but I am intrigued that one can do a zig-zag pattern with straight needles. :-) Obviously, must have something to do with the type of stitch.
Stay warm! We are to have a low of minus 24 (and possibly even colder) tonight. I feel so bad for the birds.

The bird is beautiful...I had a couple of porcelain birds that our kids gave me when they were young. I recently passed them on to our two granddaughters. They were thrilled.
The scarf is so pretty. I really like your color combinations...and ripple is always a favorite with me.
I saw on the projected forecast today that Sunday we are to have a high of 41. Looking out the windows today makes it hard to believe, yes?
Have a great evening!
LOVE the bird - and that scarf looks wonderful! I am sure your friend will be very happy with it!
Hoping your Mother is feeling better soon!!!
Your robin is so pretty and I love the scarf.. It is bitterly cold today, I am staying inside and walking on my treadmill too. I love the quote, you always seem to find great quotes..I will keep you Mom in my prayers. Have a happy Friday!

What a sweet little bird..... so pretty, and cheerful.
Love the scarf you are making.
Sending well wishes for your mom.

Best to stay inside in THIS weather. And yours is much worse than ours ... WELL--maybe not, since we are getting the ICE (which is much worse than snow)... Our temps this week have been unbelievably low almost all week... We are supposed to have another ICE STORM tonight... Hopefully, not ---but after that storm, we 'may'???? finally warm up above freezing.... Take care up there... Stay WARM.
Hugs,
Betsy
Ice-cream, knitting, reading a a little TV sounds like a nice relaxed evening to me :) That bird is so cute and your friend will love the beautiful surprise scarf. So wonderful that you're doing this!
I hope you get to go on walks again soon!
That porcelain robin is so beautiful and unique. I love birds so I really love that. I hope you have a great weekend :)
Your robin is very cute and a hopeful sign amidst all of the snow you have been showing :). Knowing that Ken's mom was the original owner makes it extra special. I have a bird that is very similar to it, but mine came from an antique shop.
Very pretty scarf you are working on. Your friend will be delighted to receive it.
That's a sweet robin. I'd love to see the other birds. I have tried to do that ripple stitch for knitting and have found that my brain doesn't bend that way. I need to watch a few more You Tube videos.
