You may remember that last year at my church we had
The Great Scripture Memory Challenge.
I started but didn't last very long with it.
This year there is another one and once again I'm giving it a try.
It seems a little easier this year because the verses are short and you only have to learn one at a time though they have to be in order.
This years challenge is
Psalm 119 which is the longest Psalm with 176 verses.
So far I've gotten credit for the first 5 verses.
1.
Blessed are the undefiled in the way,
who walk in the law of the Lord.
2.
Blessed are they that keep his testimonies,
and seek him with the whole heart.
3.
They also do no iniquity:
they walk in his ways.
4.
Thou hast commanded us to keep his precepts diligently.
5.
Oh, that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes.
I know that its not many but as least it's a start. : )

I love your snowy pictures. So beautiful. That is so neat that your are memorizing all those scriptures. Good for you. The scriptures are truly words to live by!
Happy Sunday to you, I am delighted to see that you are participating in a memory challenge, for it is those seeds of His Word which we plant through memorization that He uses to bring us comfort, joy and peace. And when we can learn whole portions of Scripture...line upon line and precept upon precept...well, it just anchors His Word tight in our hearts. I am almost finished with Psalm 27.
Nice work on getting started on the memory challenge. This reminded me of something I experienced once at church. At my church the Ministers take turns delivering the message on Sundays. One Sunday a younger Minister stepped up to the front and started talking ... It sounded like he was reading the Bible but he had no notes ... no text to look at ... He talked for about 15 minutes ... a whole Book from the Bible ... perfect ... no mistakes ... as if he was reading it. When he finished we all clapped ... which we usually don't do during a service. It was amazing ... I've never seen that kind memory before or since. Have a great day. John

Good luck with your memory challenge. I'm not very good at memorizing Scripture, although I can usually give a fairly accurate paraphrase when needed.
