Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

An outside walk : )

☃     ☃     ☃     ☃
This morning it was a warm 18 degrees. Relatively warm anyway. : )  I bundled up and went outside for my walk.  There was some wind but just once in a while and when I left at 7:00 it wasn't snowing.  About a mile into my walk some light flurries started and before long it was all out snowing.

It was so nice being able to walk outside for a change.  Though I am thankful that I can still walk in the basement of course it doesn't compare to being out in the fresh air.

There was no one else out walking or doing anything and only a handful of cars came along.

I stayed around town just walking up and down all the streets which were packed snow.

When I left, my driveway was clear of snow and when I got home there was an inch of snow covering it already.   Traffic had picked up and the snow plows were out once again.  People out doing their errands in spite of the snow.

I walked 6 miles.

Stayed home and just did things around the house.  Once in a while I just sat in my chair in the front room in front of the picture window and watched the snow coming down.  So pretty and peaceful.  I know a lot of people are tired of winter and want spring to arrive but I just like to take each day and enjoy it and not hurry it along.  Spring will arrive soon enough.  If we didn't have winter we wouldn't appreciate spring as much as we do. : )

We thought it was a good day to make homemade pizza for supper and it was a most excellent idea. : )

Hope your Saturday was a happy one and you smiled often.

That first photo looks like Grandma Moses country...so beautiful. As long as you can get outside, you seem very content with the four seasons.

I was just reading in a book written by Laura Ingalls Wilder on Wisdom and Virtues today where she was talking about how much we try to hurry things along and how people can't be content with themselves...they want to always have somewhere to go and something to do. Reading about your sitting in front of the picture window watching it snow today was the perfect picture of the reverse. :)

Have a safe Lord's Day tomorrow.

How wonderful that you took time to watch the snow come down! We need to "stop and smell the roses" now and then. Homemade pizza sounds great, and I'm ready for some! Guess that will have to be on the menu tomorrow night.:-)

I'm glad you were able to get out and walk today. You're very brave! I don't do near the walking you do but do try for a mile or two each day and I miss it so much when I don't walk and today was one of those days. I was just too busy and so I'll try for tomorrow. Have a good Sunday!

I have been guilty a time or two of wishing it was another season or time, but it is great advice to just enjoy each day as it comes.

It was relatively 'warm' here too, and I finally got for a longer walk. If it stays like this I'd enjoy more winter. I feel like I've had no chance to enjoy it because it's been too cold!

Wonderful message. So glad you prepared it and shared it.
The quote is so true also.
One thing is for sure: The world is a better place because you are in it, Happy One! Mary Jo

Love the quote!! Sitting by the window and looking out at winter is pretty much the pass-time of the week here. With a book on my lap of course.

I don't like walking on treadmills very much, but would prefer that to walking in a basement. I admire your determination. I think we all look forward to spring, and yes, it is winter that makes spring sweeter!
