Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

☃      ☃     ☃     ☃
It was 25 degrees when I left for my walk at 6:50 this morning and sunrise was 7:34.   Not even a slight breeze so it felt quite warm.  Walked around town and up to the cemeteries and saw the sun come up over the mountain.  It wasn't long though before the sun and blue sky was replaced by clouds.
The woman who I see sometimes walking around the ball park loop was walking around the cemetery today.  The ball park loop path still has ice on it in places so I haven't been walking there and I guess that's why she wasn't there today either.

This picture of the barn in the distance is the same barn in the top photo. I it took walking down the road to the Drane House.  Top picture I zoomed in and took it from the cemetery.
Went up the main road a bit and then up Barn Sale to see the cows but they weren't around today.  Didn't go all the way up the hill.

With all the snow on the ground and all the days I couldn't walk outside I haven't found many coins but I found a penny today in the library parking lot. : )
I walked 6.2 miles.

My step-dad gave me a call this afternoon and we had a nice chat.  He is a special man and I'm happy and thankful that he's my Dad.  : )

It's been snowing a bit today and sometimes the snow came down in huge flakes and it was so pretty to watch.  Took this out of my office window.
The snow didn't stick and the sun came out again this afternoon.  Temperature is below freezing and after supper when I went to get the mail half way down the driveway it was ice.  Ken was wondering what was taking me so long and he came out with the salt and made a path of it so I could easily walk up the driveway.

We've been home today having a nice day around the house.
I wish you a happy day.

Let go of yesterday.
Let today be a new beginning and be the best that you can,
and you'll get to where God wants you to be.

  1. Beautiful, beautiful pictures! Silly question, but I have to ask you - your pictures from inside your home are always nice and clear. I can't take pictures out of my windows because the screens show up! Is there a secret to getting good pictures, or do you not have screens?! Also, thank you for the lovely words you wrote about me, and the book. You made me smile. One of these days I will try to send you cookies :)

  2. What a neat barn! I like both of the image view points. I like your tall evergreens that you see out of your office window. Do you have Cardinals taking up residence in them? :) It's nice to see your snow. (We are without and our temperatures have been in the high 30s/low 40s. Strange winter weather, for sure!)

  4. In today's post ... the second photo (Sunrise) ... you should enter it in a contest! It's just great! Happyone, I was thinking about your coin collection ... I'm impressed with how much you've found on your walks. Over the years you have been collecting I wonder if you have been on the same walking paths? I just think that is a neat thing to do. Have a happy Wednesday! John

  5. Oh that sunrise is absolutely gorgeous! Just think what you (& we) would have missed if you hadn't been out there right then with your camera.
I love the snowy shots too. Although I am enjoying our spring-like weather, I am secretly hoping for at least one snowfall before winter is over.

  6. Dear Happyone,

That sunrise is absolutely gorgeous! How wonderful that you are able to have a record of it with your photo!

It is pouring down snow here right now. (Wednesday morning)

May you enjoy a blessed day in the LORD.

  7. Hi, In my blog absence, I have enjoyed keeping up with you and your blog posts... Our winter here so far has not been too bad.... We haven't had much snow at all --and January has been mild overall SO FAR....

I thought about you yesterday while watching the local news on TV. A man collected pennies for many many years... He finally took them to the bank --and got over $800 from his collection... Amazing, huh?

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  8. Sometimes it's nice to have a quiet day at home. I really like you photo of the morning sky. That old barn in the snow is pretty neat as well.
