Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

I didn't take any pictures this morning on my walk.
Nothing really caught my eye.
This picture is one from yesterday.

It was 23 degrees this morning when I left at 6:50.  Just a slight breeze and once the sun rose it stayed out.  Just a few clouds floating around.

Stayed around town this morning.  Thought about walking the Farm Loop again but with just a little breeze out in the open it would have been really cold on my face.

A nice walk but nothing out of the ordinary today.
Walked 6.2 miles.

We went to Walmart and bought the rest of the food we will need for the open house.  Almost every time we go to Walmart we see someone we know and today was no exception.  I guess when you don't have that many stores to go to it is really not that surprising. : )

I finished up the puzzle today.  It was only 750 pieces but it was a pretty hard one.  I wanted to finish it so I could get the table back again. : )Three more puzzles arrived at the house for Christmas but I won't start another one till next week.  Once I start doing a puzzle I get on a puzzle kick and do a lot of them.
Didn't do much knitting today but this is how far I've gotten on the sleeves for the baby sweater.  You can see how I'm knitting the two sleeves at the same time.
I really need to finish the sweater quickly.  I thought I had till the middle of February but the baby shower is being held on the 10 of January so that doesn't give me that much time.  I also want to knit a hat and little slippers all in the same yellow.

Another picture from Ken's Layout.
Well, I'd better go and get some knitting done

Hope your day was a happy one.
happyone : )

Mary - I watched Upstairs Downstairs when it was first run on television.  We were living in Scotland in the 70's.  : )
John - Ken's fictional railroad is set in northern NJ where we are originally from.
Anonymous - Menu and pictures of the food will be posted. : )

  1. Love the cow herd puzzle - very cute! I have no doubt you'll finish the baby sweater, etc., in time. You are very organized and dedicated. :)

  2. I really like the puzzle and also the knitting you did! I did learn how to knit before but I guess I've forgotten how to do them :/

  3. I like the picture on the puzzle.. The knitting is pretty, it will be a lovely sweater. I wish you and your family all the best in 2015. A very Happy & Healthy New Year!

  4. That sweater is going to look lovely!

  5. I get a charge out of seeing familiar places at the store.

I like seeing model train sets, and how much time and detail is given to creating a scene.

Your quote about finding hidden opportunities... that's similar to the theme that I posted this week. ...Great minds think alike, right?

  6. You will have such a fun time with the Open House. I think everyone will enjoy seeing Ken's work...it is amazing! Clever way to do the sweater sleeves...so many tips out there for doing a thing easily, Happy 2015 to you both. I laughed to think of your doing a year in review...you'd have to spend days on it with all that you accomplish!

  7. The train layout is incredible. It is nice that you each have such enjoyable hobbies in retirement.

  8. I do like that picture, the dried grass, the fence, the background scenery, all of it. That looks like a tough puzzle with all the greens and similarly-colored cows. Happy New Year!

  9. I'm impressed with all you do. Mj
