Picture of the Day
Bird house
A friend of ours made the house out of old wood.
It is hanging in the tree next to my swing.

This morning there was a good amount of fog hanging around and the temperature was 40 degrees.I walked around the cemeteries and around town. No rhyme or reason to my walk, just walked all over. This spider web caught my eye.
Walking down by the Drane House one of my horse friends saw me and came walking over to see me. (one of Farmer Marvin's horses) I took a video but only got a second recorded before the battery in my camera died. He continued to walk up to me and I talked to him and gave him a little pet.
By the time I was back home the fog had burned away and the sun was shining.
I walked 6.2 miles.

The cereal I eat mostly for breakfast is raisin bran but today I had Kix and put some blueberries on them. Made for a nice change.I did some baking this morning. Chocolate Chip cookies for the teens at church tonight and some Blueberry Muffins for us.
Ken and I split a muffin to taste one. I thought they were really good. Ken didn't think they were sweet enough and would rather eat a cookie. : ) I'm going to have a couple of them (muffins) for breakfast tomorrow morning and then freeze the rest.
Here is the recipe.
Blueberry Muffins
1 3/4 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 beaten egg
3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup cooking oil
3/4 cup blueberries
In a mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Make a well in the center.
Combine egg, milk, and oil.
Add all at once to flour mixture.
Stir just till moistened (batter should be lumpy)
Fold in blueberries.
Line muffin tin with paper bake cups, fill 2/3 full.
Bake in a 400 degree oven about 20 minutes or till golden.
Remove from pan. Makes 10 - 12
I used 1 cup of blueberries and made 12. Baked them 28 minutes.
Happy eating. : )
Hope your day is filled with sunshine and you smiled often.
happyone : )

Three Thankful Things Today
- My horse friends
- Blueberries
- That by doing a small thing I was able to bring joy to a friend
Comment Replies:
Karen - Not sure what we will do with all the pumpkins. A few will be jack o lanterns and I'll make a few pies. Originally we wanted to fill the back of our truck with pumpkins and let the kids at church all pick one out. Not enough for that this year, but there is always next year.
Betsy - We have a pellet stove that we love. Haven't had to use it this year yet though. But it runs all winter and we heat our house with it.

The spider web photo is gorgeous.
You are doing great with your morning walks.. I love the horse video and the spiders web. The cookies and muffins look delicious.. I love blueberries.. Have a great evening!
Those cookies and muffins look really good! I'll take one of each.:-) Our morning temperature was nice and cool this morning, too, but not as cool as yours.
Love that spider web picture!
I'll have to print your muffin recipe. I love blueberries and don't like muffins that are too sweet so sounds good to me!

Oh, we had muffins for lunch yesterday. Bob made them while I was out in the morning and it was nice to come home and not have to make lunch. We had banana but haven't tried making blueberry ones yet.

Ahhhhhh...lovely to stop by and find you doing your thing. Those chocolate chip cookies do look exceptionally delicious. I like a sweeter muffin, too, but then I was told that I wanted cake and not a muffin. =D
That reclaimed wood birdhouse is one of a kind and so charming. I have been trying to steer John toward that kind of project, but he is too much of a purist. Oh well.
That is a really cool bird house, and a great picture of the spider web! Those are not easy to photograph. I tried on my recent 3 day hike in the Blue Ridge, and just could not get a good photo of a web. Well done!
Baking looks delicious! :^) Art
Your bird house is really neat and so is the tree it's hanging from. Loved the sparkling spiderweb.
Muffins sound good but I like Chocolate Chip cookies too.
