Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

65 degrees and cloudy when I started walking this morning, but the clouds soon let loose the rain and I walked a few miles in a light drizzle.  With two miles left to go the rain stopped and I started drying out.

I walked all over town.  Didn't want to get too far away from home because I heard a little rumble of thunder.

Nothing out of the ordinary on my walk today.  Just a nice summer walk in the rain.  The rain kept me nice and cool.

I walked 6.2 miles.

No work on the patio today because of the on and off again rain so we hopped in the truck and had an outing for the day in LaVale.  Went in and out of stores looking around and buying a couple of things.

We've been thinking about buying a car for the winter here because the vette's don't do snow.  Thought about a jeep but decided against that. We've heard and read all good reports of the Subaru and we like the look of the CrossTrex so we decided to give it a test drive.
It was a very nice car.  Rode well, was comfortable, and nice looking, but there was nothing special about it.  It was just a car to get from one place to another.  So we decided it wasn't for us.  I guess when you are already driving your dream car, no other car is going to measure up.  We will look around some more but I think we will probably end up with another truck.

Well, it's getting to be that time when I'd better decide on supper.
Hope your day has been a happy one.

others just get wet.

Three Thankful Things Today
  1. A walk in the rain
  2. A trip to the Candyland store
  3. That I had a great Daddy

Kim - Ken likes the hair style.  He really doesn't care what I do with my hair as long as I don't complain about it. : )

Today is my Dad's birthday.  He would have been 93 years old.  He died in 1999.  Just wanted to take a moment here to remember him. Here we are together when I was about 11 years old.

Cute picture of your little town.. it's really quite charming.

Best of luck with the car hunting. I love getting new car, but I HATE the new car payment and insurance... *smile**.
We'll drive our cars until the bumpers fall off... *haha**.. We do have a Tahoe, and it does well in the deep snow, plus it has 4 wheel drive on the fly. It's been a really good vehicle.

I think it's a great picture you have there, with your Dad. Lucky you to have had a great Dad.
My Dad was the world's best Dad, and I miss him every single day.
How blessed we are to have had great Dads :)

Good sign! You probably don't get much snow there in winter.

We are having some real storms here this afternoon and into the present time! Lots of noise, and there was some damage to locations a little south of us. Not a rain in which to attempt walking!

Hope you have good luck finding that new vehicle you need! I hope you'd hold onto your Corvette.:)

Wow it's been a long time since I've walked in the rain. Sounds like fun. Interesting sign, hope it helps kids. Loved seeing the photo of you and your dad. My dad died in 1998 and he would have been 94 this year. I miss him still.

Good luck with the car choice. I can see why you want to keep the 'Vette but also why it might not be the best winter car for your area. That is a nice photo of you and your father. Art
