Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another fine day : )

The sky this morning while I was out walking
✼     ✼     ✼     ✼
54 degrees this morning with a mixture of sun and clouds.  Daylight is already starting to get here later in the morning. The sun is not out and shining when I leave the house anymore.  It's not dark but the sun has not yet made it over the mountains.
I walked the Farm Loop and then around town.

Saw a couple of deer in a field and they bounced away once they saw me.

There were LOTS of crows around the farms today and they were really big.  They would have been perfect for the movie, The Birds.

I took this picture of the old army truck out in a field with the strange contraption on the back it for Ken because I thought he'd like it.  He told me the strange contraption on it was for digging trenches.
The Rose of Sharon bush along the fence was a picture I was going to save for a good fence post but here it is now.
A close up.
Didn't see any other people out walking.
I walked 6.5 miles.

Today we've been out and about doing errands.

Then stopped up at Happy Trails for a little while.  Back home I took out the rest of the ugly shrubs out by the front walk and transplanted some marigolds.  I think it looks much nicer.

Supper has been eaten, the dishes washed and we had a little walk around the yard.
And so another day is drawing to a close and it's been a good one.
Life is Good.
Hope your day has been a happy one.

Three Thankful Things Today
  1. Mornings
  2. That those shrubs are finally gone from the front walkway
  3. And they are replaced with colorful pretty plants

Thanks everyone for all those comments yesterday. : )
Kerin - Ken still has quite a few loads of rock and dirt to get.  I don't even know how many more.  He hasn't just been collecting the material.  He's been working with what he has and then goes and gets more.  I'll have some progress pictures soon.

What a gorgeous morning...that first photo...so pretty and the Rose of Sharon along the fence is beautiful. I'm a little surprised by the fact that you 're almost back to walking in the shadows again. We can probably count on some beautiful sunrise photos soon.

Happy August! I had the day off and had hoped to go hiking today. And if I lived up your way, I would have. But here, it has rained on and off all day, and was going to in the mountains as well. Better a rainy day hiking than a sunny day at work, but sometimes a rainy laid back day at home is better than a rainy day hiking. I like your lead photo a lot. Art

Beautiful sky and mist in your leading photo today. :) I love the Rose of Sharon bush next to the fence - they're perfect together!

Your first photo is so beautiful and peaceful. What a lovely way to start the day.
I love the rose of sharon shots too. I have two of them, but they are now receiving too much shade and not flowering as well as they should.
Enjoy your weekend.

Very pretty pictures.
I have noticed that the days are getting a wee shorter.
I suppose that summer is beginning to wane.

It's so nice that Ken has a supply of dirt and rocks for the patio project!
That's a bonus to living in the country :) Generally speaking, we don't have to go to the big box stores to buy our rocks **smile*.

Have a great weekend.

That is quite an impressive morning shot. I love the way that the fog is nestling the ground...how picturesque. I love it!
