Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

A number 15 day : )

Savage River Reservoir
♡     ♡     ♡     ♡
It was the warmest morning so far for walking with a temperature of 70 degrees with sun and clouds.  By the time I was home I was soaked and it didn't rain.
I walked the Farm Loop again and around town and by the ball park.  It was nice walking along here with trees on both sides of the street in the shade and here I could feel the breeze.
Today I stopped to talk to Evalena who lives just up the road and around the bend in the above picture.  She was sitting on her almost finished new deck.

I heard lots of birds and the usual rabbits of which there are many.

Though I still enjoy my walk even when I'm hot I prefer walking when it's cold.  I feel more energized when it's cold.

I walked 6.3 miles.

A few of you thought I might have chosen a red kayak but you were wrong.  : )  I picked out this PINK one.  I have a pink life jacket to match too.  Here I sit in it yesterday dreaming of today.  Ken came up behind and took the picture.  As you can see Ken picked out a yellow kayak.
We left right after breakfast for another day of kayak adventure.  We had fun yesterday but today topped the scales.  We went to Savage River Reservoir and being there was what I imagined kayaking to be all about.  Oh my, what a beautiful place and we had the place almost to ourselves.  Saw only three other boats there and the people in them were fishing.
I took a lot of pictures and it was hard to decide which ones to post.  Here are some of them.  We put our kayaks in the water crossed to the other side of the reservoir and took a right and went around the whole right side.
So many fascinating rocks to look at along the shore line.

Ken paddling under the trees.
Here I am enjoying a moment in time.
It rained a few times and when it did we just pulled up under a tree.
Lunch time we pulled up on these rocks and ate lunch and sat there for a while enjoying the beauty around us.
Then we headed back.  There are many little coves all around the shore line and we just followed around till we were back where we started.  We were out on the lake about 4 hours.  I thought my arms would hurt from yesterday but they felt fine.  Maybe after today, tomorrow I will  be sore.

We paddled around the one side of the reservoir and on our next kayaking adventure we will turn left out of the little cove we started in and check out that side.

I just can't tell you how much we both enjoyed this day.  On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it a 15.  : )
Just goes to prove at any age you can discover something new that you absolutely love.

Hope you enjoyed  just a glimpse of this beautiful place.  I can just imagine how beautiful it will be in the Autumn when the leaves have turned colors.

Hope your day has been sunny and bright and you smiled often.
happyone : )

Three Thankful Things Today
  1. Kayaking at Savage River Reservoir
  2. Kayaking with Ken
  3. That God created such a beautiful world for us

  1. I was sure you would have a red one! LOL I love the photos and the reflections in the water. So pretty!

  2. A 15 Day is very special indeed. Did you pack a picnic lunch? It is a good sign that you are not sore.

We are getting thunderstorms this evening that appear to extend all the way down to your corner. You did well to walk in such early morning heat.

    1. Forgot to say that you look good in pink and I really like Ken's yellow!

  3. What a great new hobby! Now you have me thinking that I would like to try kayaking. It looks so fun and I do love your pink kayak. It is so YOU!

  4. Beautiful pictures. The one of you on the lake is gorgeous.I love the calmness of the water and the reflections.

  5. So glad you found you love kayaking! I canoe rather than kayak, but there's nothing like a few hours out on the water, and lots of new picture opps - including that pink kayak!

  6. What a wonderful hobby to share with each other!

  7. I was pretty sure that you would get hooked once you tried kayaking! Looks like a wonderful place to paddle in and explore, and a great day of fun for both of you. Just stay alert for thunderstorms this time of year and keep wearing that pink life jacket. Someday I hope to be able to have a kayak. Art
