Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

Sunny days

Walking down the road in the sunshine
♡     ♡     ♡     ♡
Up and out early taking my morning walk as usual.  It was sunny, 48 degrees and beautiful.  A random walk today.  Headed out on the main road toward Happy Trails,
passed up the HT road and went straight for a while.  Then turned around and on the way back did turn up the HT road but only walked up to where the three dogs live.  Then it was back to town and up and down the roads.

I saw Peggy again but we were going opposite ways on different sides of the road so just said hi.

I saw a deer.  They usually keep themselves pretty well hidden so it is nice to see one once in awhile.

These pretty purple weeds (flowers) are along a lot of roads especially where there is a little stream flowing.
I walked 6.1 miles.

Pancakes for breakfast.  Not at Annie's Kitchen today, but homemade ones.  Though Annie's are special I like good old Bisquick ones too.

Another pretty day with a bright blue sky but today not a cloud in the sky and I spent a lot of it outside.  Did some weeding and divided up some of the daisies out front by the road and planted some in the places where I dug up the shrubs.

In the afternoon I was all set to mow the lawn but it was just not to be.  The back tire on the rider mower was flat and I filled it with air.  In a few minutes I could see that the tire was losing air.  The problem I realized was not with the tire but with the wheel.  The valve stem was bad and leaking air. I tried duct tape around the bottom of the valve but that didn't work.  Ken is not at home this afternoon so I'll wait until he gets home and he can deal with it.  I was annoyed that I couldn't get the mowing done but then thought there must be some reason why I'm not supposed to mow the lawn today.  There is always tomorrow. : )

I walked around the yard, sat in the swing and finally went back inside the house.
Hope your day is filled with sunshine.
happyone : )

a growing number of Americans
as having a higher quality of life
not because of what it has,

  1. Happy Summer to you... When I think back to all of your months and months of snow, it's hard to imagine how everything has turned green now... God is GOOD.... Love nature!!!!

Sorry about the lawn mower but you obviously tried to fix it.

    Have a great weekend.
    Hugs,

  3. I've been seeing those wildflowers around here too....I think they are called: Hesperis matronalis - aka Dame's Rocket

  4. It seems you gave the mowing a fair try and since it didn't want to cooperate you're free to pursue something else. Hope you found something fun and relaxing.

  5. I agree with Kerri...looks like phlox, but with the four petals, I think it must be the very invasive Dame's Rocket.

Glad that you were able to "let it go" with the lawn. I do hate having a plan foiled, though.

  6. Your attempt to mow the yard reminds me of my husband the last time he wanted to mow. It wouldn't start, and he finally had to charge the battery! That took all day, so the mowing was, of course, delayed. It is just like housework - it is always going to be there.:)

  7. We used to call that pink flower the 'interstate flower' because it grew wild all along the sides of interstate 57. very pretty to look at, I had no idea it was a weed.

  8. 48 degrees! Wow your photo looks a lot warmer than that! I'm sure it will warm up as summertime approaches! Lovely green all around you. It's golden time here - that means the hills and lawns are all golden brown! Thanks for stopping by. Nice new blog you have.

  9. It was a gorgeous day today and I was out hiking in the mountains. Came home tired but happy. I saw great wildlife, the least of which was five deer. But I feel like I am getting old!

The grass will still be there tomorrow.

  10. Pretty purple flowers. :)

Frustrating about the mower but you had the right attitude - might be some reason for you not to get it done today. I hope the rest of your day was enjoyable.
