I walked the Farm Loop, went right past my house, through town, around one cemetery, around cemetery number two, around the loop behind the ball park and home. After walking the FL I usually just walk randomly around town. Today I wanted to make a direct route to see how many miles it would be. It was 6.7 miles.
I spotted this duck down by the stream that runs through Farmer Bill's farm. Had to zoom in on him. I don't know what kind he is.
There were a few fishermen around the town pond and I was two farmers out working on this beautiful morning.

Yesterday I forgot to post the picture of a strawberry that I used in the fruit salad I made. It was the biggest strawberry I've ever seen. I ate a piece of it too and it was very sweet. Here it is in the palm of my hand.Dandelions have been popping out all over the place and all my neighbors yards are covered in them. I for one think they look pretty in a green lawn and like them. We only have a few in our yard, but I'm pretty sure next year we will have lots of them in our yard too. The people who lived here before us had a lawn service who kept the weeds out. I didn't want the chemicals in the yard so we don't use one.
I washed a large load of dark clothes this morning and the basket of wet clothes was heavy. I wanted to know how heavy it was so weighed it. It was 24 pounds. Here they are blowing gently in the breeze getting dried.
Sitting in the chair by the window when I saw a bird fly up on the porch with some nesting material in it's beak. It came and went a few times but I didn't catch what kind of bird it was. I went outside to take a look at where the nest was being built and there it was in the forsythia wreath Doesn't look like it is finished yet. I'll be keeping an eye on it.
Well, I'll be leaving for the Mother/Daughter banquet in just a little while. It starts at 6:00 but I'm leaving here at 4:00 to get there early to help set things up. It should be a fun time. I'm taking my camera so maybe I'll get a few pictures, if I don't forget.
Hope your Friday is a happy day with lots of sunshine.

How neat that you will be able to keep an eye on that bird's nest!
Yes! That is one huge strawberry!
Mr. Duck looks quite content.
We use no chemicals on our lawn, either. My husband says he mows the dandelions and onions.:) We want clover to entice the bees, but there are few of them.:(
That is one gigantic strawberry!
The duck is very colorful. You see the best things on your walks!
What a cute place mama bird has chosen for her nest. Hope you're able to see the new little family once they are born.
Wow, that is a huge strawberry.
Hope you have fun at the mother/daughter banquet. I remember going to them at my grandma's church when I was a kid.
Wow, that is some strawberry! The mother/daughter banquet sounds like a lot of fun. Have a wonderful Mother's Day yourself! (I love your quote for the day). :-D
John and I are both very impressed with the giant strawberry. I am also impressed with the duck and, though I have tried, I can not identify him either. He sure is a handsome fellow. And I love that quote. John says that no one wants to help shovel the driveway either. LOL.
Hope you have fun at the banquet!!
And what a BEAUTIFUL duck! I wonder if he is a hybrid of some kind - Like a Mallard and a Muscovy mix or something. He is Gorgeous!
That picture of the duck was stunning. It looked like an oil painting.
I sent you an e-mail today. Mary Jo
That is one man-sized strawberry! My goodness! I like dandelions, too - they add color and variety. Art
Oh, I love that quote! How true!
Whoever your little bird is, they have good taste for decorating! I'm sure the forsythia was the deciding factor in locating their new home. :-)
That is the largest strawberry I've ever seen! It looks delicious!
