Two people were fishing at the town pond and they were the only people I saw out.
A few of you were interested in the church that I posted a picture of the other day, so I took another picture of the sign out in front of it. The church as been there for 150 years. If you click on the picture you can see earlier pictures of the church.
A few blocks down the road in the middle of town there is another church.
There is one other church I walk by too but that is along the Farm Loop and didn't walk there today so no picture of that one.
I walked 6.3 miles.

The Mother/Daughter Banquet was nice last night. I left so early that I was the very first person there. I had my choice of parking places. : ) I thought it would take me 45 minutes or so to get there but it only took me 35 minutes. It wasn't held at church but at a community center about 10 minutes drive away from church. Just off to the right were a couple of swings so I swung on the swings waiting for others to arrive.
There were about 150 people there and we had lots of food to eat (Mine and Becky's Fruit Salad seemed to be a hit), entertainment to listen too, games to play and a guest speaker. I took a few pictures but they didn't come out good enough to post them.
The nest that is being built in the wreath on the front porch is being made by Robins. She and her Mr are working hard to make it just right for their babies and have made many trips back and forth.
Apart from going to the Dollar General we've been home today doing this and that around the house. I collected some of the little things I have sitting around the house that I'm tired of looking at but still like and put them downstairs in a cabinet. I made many trips up and down the stairs. Now I can switch things out once in a while and it doesn't look so cluttered.
Read a bit and knitted too. It's been nice just hanging around home. : )

The churches are beautiful!
The mother/daughter banquet sounds like a nice time. I love the varieties of food at events like this.
Happy Mother's Day Karen!
What fun to swing until the others showed up. Very pretty churches in your town, but yours is not in your town, I think I read. Sounds like a great banquet and lots of fun. You are doing a thing that I have always wanted to do...have a cupboard where decorations and vases, etc., live until they are needed. It's impossible to have it all out all the time. I used my china cabinet for this a little, but I really need another something somewhere...perhaps in the garage. A blessed Mother's Day to you! God loves mothers don't you know and gave them one of His most trusted jobs.
Nice church! And that's one hot car you drive!!
The mother-daughter event sounds like it was very successful!
You've had a productive day! I should take your lead and do some uncluttering here.:-)
Enjoy your evening!
Sounds like the mother-daughter banquet was a great success. I like living in town with lots of churches because that means that the people there think about God (and hopefully try to lead good, Christian lives). I would love to have a quiet day at home. My day today was run, run, run and it isn't over yet. I am looking forward to a "Day of Rest" tomorrow!
I'm glad you had such a nice time at your banquet. Its so nice that you and Ken both participated.
Next I'm going to write an e-mail to you. Check for it. Mary Jo

Sounds like you had a great day... I'm sure you enjoyed the banquet...
Love the photos of the churches in your area. That one that is 150 years old is amazing...
I'm on the mend since my surgery and still not up to par--but each day gets better.
Hugs,
Betsy
