I saw a couple of bunnies and heard a woodpecker.
A walker passed through town and a man was fishing at the town pond.
Someone in town decided to try and make the fuel tank in their yard look more than just a big white tank.
I'm liking these warmer walking days. It no longer takes me 15 minutes to get dressed to go walking.
I walked 6.2 miles

Have some saw news. Just found out that my Uncle Bud, died Wednesday.
He was my father's brother and the youngest of the three brothers and now
they are all having a grand reunion in heaven. He was 91 years old and
had a long happy life and family and friends who loved him dearly. He lived in Arizona and I hadn't seen him quite a few years but he was one of my favorite uncles.

I put some pork chops in the slow cooker and cooked them until they were falling apart tender. Then shredded them up added some BBQ sauce and cooked them a bit longer. We will be having them for supper on rolls with macaroni salad that I made this morning. This afternoon I finished reading 44 Cranberry Point and really enjoyed it. It ended with me wanting to read the next one, but I have a few other books to read first. I've started my next book, Still Life With Bread Crumbs by Anna Quindlen which is the next book club selection and have to read by Wednesday. The book is a large print which I don't need but like.
Hope you're having a bright and happy day even if it is raining where you are.
happyone : )
The moment when you first wake up in the morning
is the most wonderful of the 24 hours.
No matter how weary or dreary you may feel,
you posses the certainty that,
during the day that lies before you,
absolutely anything may happen.

Three Happy Things for Today
- God holding off the rain for me
- The brown grass of winter turning to spring green
- Plenty of books to read

The things I make you do! LOL!
The secret to my getting out in the morning is to just toss on some clothes, dress my feet, and grab my coat. I have no coffee, no breakfast, no "really" getting dressed until I return. If I don't do it first thing, it's not going to happen. Today it didn't happen because of sleet and freezing rain. Not walking in that. Hope that one interruption doesn't mean the end for me. I'll need to pray that I can keep it going.
It is a challenge to say goodbye to our parents' generation. I know that I am struggling with it quite a bit. Comfort to you as you think of your uncle being reunited with his brothers and family in Glory.
Your pork chops sound very tasty. Wonder if I have any in the freezer. It's either that or scrambled eggs. ☺
Good morning Karen. I enjoyed reading about your Friday! So sorry to hear about your Uncle Bud. Sounds like he had a good long life. My dad's youngest brother died last year so now the whole family is in heaven together! I'm like you - I don't really need large print books - but they are nice and easy on the eyes. What a nice little blessing that the rain held off you to finish your walk! Have a happy weekend!
What a wonderful idea, painting flowers on the fuel tank!
I'm sorry to hear the news about your uncle. Hugs to you.
How delicious that pork barbecue sounds!
No rain here. Perhaps you will have another chance soon for those rain boots.
Condolences about your uncle. He had a good, long life. Both my parents were only children, so I missed having aunts, uncles, and cousins.
I just got a new rain jacket so I look forward to a little rain to try it out. Art
