There were seven of us for the book club and we had a good discussion about the book, The Girl Left Behind and we all liked it. I met a new friend Sharon at the book club and it turns out she lives a few houses away from me on the main street in town. She walks too but goes later in the day than I do.
I came home with three more books to read!!!
This morning when I got up the temperature was 5 degrees and VERY windy with snow but it was hard to see if it was actually snowing or just blowing around. So I had a walk in the basement while listening to an audio book. I walked 5 miles.
We only had a little more than an inch of snow so I'm sure by tomorrow it will be gone. It's been a sunny day but still cold and windy. Tomorrow it is supposed to be in the 50's again. : )
We've been home all day staying out of the wind and cold.
I finished with the kitchen today and it is all sparkly clean now. Too bad it can't stay that way for more than a few days, if that long.
I listened to more of the audio book from my basement walk while I worked in the kitchen. Though video books will never take the place of a 'real' book for me they do have their place and I'm quite enjoying them.
In the afternoon I spent some time reading. Didn't get to take any pictures outside today so I took a picture of the little sitting area in front of the picture window in the library. We love sitting here looking out of the window. This is where we sit after breakfast and talk, then read our Bibles, and then continue with our day.
Thank you Kerry, Nellie and Vee for the 'season' hymns. I'm sure we will use all three of them. : )
Hope your day has been a happy one and if winter came back where you are, that tomorrow will be warm and sunny once again.
happyone : )

most people would be contented
to take their own and depart.

My house looks like two little boys blew through it. After being off school for a day and a half because of snow, the house needs some TLC. We did go out sledding for about an hour in this lovely 22 degrees with a stiff wind. Can't waste that hill! Your reading corner looks like such a cozy spot for reading and study and just daydreaming. Who knows? Perhaps you and Cheryl will make a walking date once a week...then a coffee break!
I love your chairs and would like two in the same style!
Our wind yesterday was ferocious! It blew away my garden flag, and we know not where it went!:( Took it right off the stand!
I made a trip to the library today and checked out my first audio book. My problem is having a player that is portable, so I was playing it in the car. Now I want to get back in the car and listen to it! Of course, I could bring it inside to the one CD player we have, but I would then have to advance it to find the track I am on now.:)
Enjoy that clean kitchen! Mine doesn't stay clean long at all.
Your sitting room looks so cozy and inviting, I always enjoy reading of your day.
Thank you for commenting on my last post , I have not been blogging this week as I have been in my garden due to the warm weather, I am sorry for being late responding about your question about herbs. Your choices are excellent ones, I also recommend Italian herbs such as oregano, Marjoram any herbs you use in cooking would be great choices for growing. One thing I have found out about mints are they can be very invasive, therefore I plant them in pots, I love mints one of those I picked up was chocolate mint, can you believe that?~smile~ As a matter of fact besides having an herb garden I plant herbs in pots and place them on my porch, herbs and flowers like each other.Good luck with your herbs, If i can help in any way please let me know.
Blessings,
Sue
Hi Karen - I do love your little sitting area - how cozy sitting there with hubby reading your Bibles. How truly lovely. Sounds like you got a little springtime snow your way. Hope it warms up again so you can walk outside. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
I have finally begun reading books again. Just started one last week that I am really liking. I go through phases reading - I'll read 10 in 6 months and then none in the next 6 months.
Your home looks so cozy :)
My day is happy enough, although not what I planned few weeks ago. I have the day off and hoped to hike, and it would be a lovely day for it. But we are having our home's inside painted and so I am home staying in an upstairs room with our cat so she does not freak out. But still, it is a day home from work and relaxing, and no snow - unlike your part of the world. Enjoy the rest of your day and weekend. Art
