Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another Beautiful Day

March is living up to it's name of the Windy Month around here.  Very windy again but this morning was even warmer than yesterday.  It was 45 degrees and though it was dark when I left the sun did come out before I got home.  It's nice not having to wear so many layers these last couple of days.  Didn't even need my hood on and got to wear a ball cap.

I walked the farm loop the opposite way again and also took a side trip up Spear Road.  That is the road with the big old tree that refuses to die.
I saw a couple of geese out by one of the farm ponds.
Also saw a couple of rabbits hopping around on the side of the road by the woods and they hopped back in the woods as I walked by.
A skunk, a squirrel, and a raccoon weren't so lucky and never made it across the road.

Didn't see anyone else out.
I so enjoy these beautiful mornings.
I walked 6.2 miles.

Before coming in the house I checked out front to see if I could see any sign of the daffodils coming up.  What a pleasant surprise when I saw this.  Can you spot the four little sprouts?
I'm amazed how fast the snow has melted these last two days.  The snow is almost all gone.  BUT I just heard the weather report and it seems tomorrow afternoon the temperature is taking a turn downward and we have 4 - 5 inches of snow predicted. That just can't be right.

I took my car out for a ride today since the weather was so nice and went to visit Harry.  It had been a while since I visited him and it was good to see him again.  He was moved to a new room since I was last there.  This one is bigger but he is now farther away from the cafeteria.  We had a nice visit.  I'm going to try to get there to see him once a week now that winter is over and my car can get out.

After lunch I walked over to the bank which is only three blocks away.  It was so warm that I didn't even need a coat.

I washed the sheets and got to hang them outside on the line to dry.  There was some snow left under the clothes line so there I was in my boots hanging up the sheets.  I should have had Ken take a picture.

Made a batch of Welsh Cookies to bring to the book club tomorrow.  A few people wanted to try them so I said I'd bake a batch and bring them for everyone to try.  I forgot them last month.

So that's been my day so far.
I'd better go and put those nice smelling sheets back on the bed.
Hope you are all enjoying your Tuesday.

Today's Three Happy Things
  1. Fresh smelling sheets dried outside on the line
  2. Daffodils on the way
  3. Visiting Harry

What a good day you have had! I'd say Harry really enjoyed your visit! You've done those Welsh cookies before, and I think you even posted the recipe. Is it still somewhere on the blog? They sound very interesting.

Oh the fresh-smelling sheets will be the perfect end to another wonderful day. I am not going to fret over our new snow because I will remind myself how quickly it goes (once it starts going). Harry must have been happy to see you, too. Will he get some Welsh cookies, which I must go looking for on your recipe list.

It's been very windy here as well. It was sunny and 71 yesterday! But tomorrow morning it's going to be 17. Crazy!

Line dried sheets, daffodil shoots and a visit with Harry all sound like the makings for a nice day. I am imagining the joy you brought to Harry with your visit and your homemade cookies.
We had a very windy day here yesterday. Today looks calmer, but also much cooler.

It turned out that those forecasters were right on!

I love seeing the daffodils bloom, spring is nearly here. Well, in Richmond, it is here - early spring for sure. Not that winter will go quietly. Art
