Walking Outside

It was 25 degrees, no wind and cloudy when I walked this morning and yes, I got to walk outside.  Sure glad I had those ice grippers on.  As you can see in the picture there was lots of ice around.

I stayed around town.  It would have been good on the farm loop road but getting there I would have had to walk down the busy road and the shoulders of the road aren't cleared that great and when those 18 wheelers come barreling down the road I want to be able to get way to the side.

The road up to one of the cemeteries wasn't plowed yet and I walked in the tire tracks.

This little snow covered bird house caught my eye.

 Saw a couple of rabbits and LOTS of rabbit footprints.  Deer prints too but no deer. 

No others out walking but did see snow plows out, and the regular school bus drivers around.

My Stiiv  (pedometer) battery was extremely low so I went home after just a mile and plugged it in for a few minutes.  Recharged it just enough so I could finish my walk then walked another 4 miles before it got too low again, so only walked 5 miles today.  I'll probably go walk another mile or two down the basement later today.

Really enjoyed the Tea Time magazine.  Some really good sounding recipes in there and  the Chocolate Biscuit Cake is my favorite.  I will be trying it one day soon. 

It calls for a package of English-style tea biscuits.  I remember eating McVities biscuits when we lived in Scotland.  I don't remember seeing them around here but have never looked.  Anyone ever see them?

We went out today to do some errands.  We thought we'd better go today because tonight we are supposed to be getting ICE and we may not want to go out tomorrow.  Sure hope we just get snow.

Today's Three Thankful Things

1. My ice grippers.  I'm thankful for these every day there is ice.  Without them it would have been another walk in the basement.
2. Our 4 wheel drive truck
3. The trees covered in a coating of snow - beautiful.

Vee - Yes, I do drink tea and like it very much.  I'm not a coffee drinker though I do like the smell of it.

Deb - Yesterday I got the first book in the Cedar Cove series from the library and today I got book number 2.  Yes, I am listening to the first book Rose Harbor series.  I believe there are only two so far.
