Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Thankful to be back walking. : )

Thank you all so much for your prayers and concerns when I wasn't feeling well.  Today I'm back to feeling just fine.  Must have just been a virus of some kind.
It was SO nice to be outside this morning and walking again.  I really do miss it when I don't walk!!
It was 25 degrees but the sun came up and stayed out and it was a beautiful morning.  I walked around town so I would be close to home if I got tired.  Picture is of the little pond in town.   I walk by it on my way to the cemetery and the Drane house where the my horse friend lives.

Lone Chicken is no longer alone.  She has five new roommates.  Two white chickens and three red ones.  When I talked to them Lone Chicken talked back and the others just stood there.  I was going to give her a new name but decided to leave it Lone Chicken. : )

I met a woman named Sylvia who was walking her BIG puppy, a Malamute named Saber around the loop by the ball park.  I can see her house from my house and she is a cashier at Lowe's.  She didn't look familiar but her voice sounded familiar.  It was kind of hard to tell what we looked looked with hoods and scarves on!!  Next time we go to Lowe's I'll look for her! Her and her husband almost bought our house before the people we bought it from bought it!!

These two trees are actually one tree that the trunk split in two.  I thought it looked pretty against the blue sky.
So that was my walk today which was a little shorter than usual but not by much.
I walked 5.5 miles - 11,362 steps.
I found a penny.
We've been home today.  I did some knitting and counted cross stitching in between trying to catch up on blog reading.

After supper we headed out to church to hear Don Williams and see his chalk drawing.  I was going to take a picture of the drawing but forgot.  He draws a picture and then when a black light is shined on it,  you see another picture in the picture.  It was pretty cool.

Home now and I'm just about to go and have some ice cream.
Pleasant dreams, my friends.
happyone : )
Dear God,
I want to take a minute,
not to ask of anything from you,
but simply to say
Thank You,
for all I have.

  1. So glad that you are feeling so much better that you could walk 5. something miles. I think it's so cute that LC talks to you! Pretty soon, they'll all be chatting along. You're meeting so many folks!

  2. Glad to hear that you are feeling better! That speaker/artist at your church sounds neat. Glad you were able to go to that. Sounds so cold there - we were cooler today - only about 79. It was still too warm to walk with a jacket on tonight. See you tomorrow! Have a good one!

  3. Relieved to know you're feeling better. Don Williams must have been great to watch. Sounds like you had a really pleasant day.

  4. So happy you are feeling better!!!

  5. So glad to hear that you are feeling better and back to walking. I am amazed at all of the people you meet when you are out walking. It seems when I walk around here I see few people and if I do it's a quick "hi".
I had hoped to do some stitching yesterday, but I was babysitting and Jaxson didn't want to take a nap.
Hope you enjoyed your ice cream.

  6. It is good to hear that you are feeling better. I know how it feels to have to be out of routine for a day or so. Have a good Thursday!

  7. Yay! Glad you are feeling so much better and getting in a walk. Enjoy the day today! Art

  8. I am sorry you were sick. I am so happy that you are feeling better.

Hello my friend.

I'm hoping you will leave a comment.
