Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Baking a cheese cake

Today my walk started at 7:00 when it was still dark and was for another 45 minutes.  The temperature was 40 degrees.  I was walking around town under the street lights and was about a mile from home and when it started raining.  I walked back home and got my umbrella, walked down to the end of the driveway and the rain stopped.  I kept my umbrella with me just in case it started raining again, but it never did and I even got to see some blue sky. : )
Another alley in town.  I like that cute little red house up there at the end.
Looks like a house from the 50's.
Just a random walk around the town, the cemeteries and the ball park loop.  Saw my horse friend down by the Drane house and he came over by the fence to say hi.  The lone chicken no longer runs to the other side of her pen when I come by.  I think she's happy to see me now!

No people about on this early Saturday morning.  Looking forward to tomorrow morning when it will be lighter earlier.  No more walking in the dark, at least for a little while.

I walked 6.1 miles - 11,867.
Sunrise: 7:47
Sunset: 6:14

Ken went up to Happy Trails in the morning but I stayed home and baked a cake.  It's Ken's birthday tomorrow and I always bake him his favorite cake - Cheese Cake.  You can find the recipe HERE.

We had rain, sun, rain, and sun again here today.  The weather can't seem to make up its mind.  At least the sun came around once in a while. : )

I did more of the cross stitch this afternoon.
Plan on going out for supper to the Mountain State Brewery for pizza later when Ken gets home. We do like our pizza!! : )

Hope your Saturday is a fun day for you.

Happy early birthday wishes to Ken! That is the sweetest little red cottage just as darling as can be. You are probably more acutely aware of light during all seasons of the year than anyone I know.

Yes, I like daylight in the morning, too.

We are long overdue for some pizza! I believe that will be on the menu tomorrow! I hope you have enjoyed yours this evening.

Happy birthday to your husband! Enjoy that cheese cake!
