Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Another day at home

The rain was gone this morning and I had a sunny and cold morning to walk.  It was 30 degrees.

I walked the farm loop, the two cemeteries and the loop behind the ball park.  That is my main route and the one I walk most often.

I saw a lot of crows.  They are hard to get close enough to take pictures of because they fly away as soon as they see me.  Lots of geese still around too on the little pond down by the Drane house.  I didn't walk down there today but I could see them all from the road by the school.

A quiet morning - didn't see anyone else out.

I walked 6.4 miles - 12,614 steps.

I washed the big picture window in the library.  The sun was shining in which made it look all streaky.  I washed it when the sun wasn't there any more.  After washing it, you can hardly tell a window is there.  I'll have to see how good a job I've done tomorrow morning when the sun is shining in again. : )

Ken went up to Happy Trails after lunch.  I though about going too but then decided to stay home.
I spent most of the afternoon doing my counted cross stitch so I had a nice relaxing afternoon.

Tonight was a quick and easy supper of hot dogs and baked beans.
We enjoyed our last piece of cheese cake last evening, so tonight it's back to ice cream.

Hope your Friday was a happy one.

Nellie - Rain boots would be nice but I need my walking shoes for my walks.  Those pretty rain boots just don't make it for long walks.  I've been thinking about seeing if I could find some rubbers.  Remember those things that just slipped on over your shoes?  They would work. I wonder if they even make them anymore.

Deb - I'm reading The House of Velvet and Glass by Katherine Howe and I think I'll go and read some of it now.

My husband looked and looked for those rubber slip-ons. I think he finally found some, but don't know where.

I'd love some hot dogs and baked beans!:)

It sounds like you have had a good Friday, with time to read your book.

My husband replaced the screen in the storm door with the glass, and I cleaned the glass afterward. I will also have to wait until the sun shines through to see how clean it is.:-) Sometimes it needs more than one effort.

Have a good night.

Another lovely day! I love the sunrise picture. Let me know how the book turns out and if you like it any better once you are finished! Enjoy your weekend.

What a gorgeous sunrise! I loved all those black silhouettes against the sky. Are you still using the HOPE cleaner? I love that stuff and I'm sure that I learned about it here.

It sounds like a nice walk again for you. Friday was OK, it did not turn out as I had hoped so I counted my blessings. Art
