Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Out to Uniontown

Another 50 degree morning.  I think one of these mornings it will turn cold all of a sudden.  There was some fog around but you could see the sun trying to get through.
I walked around town today.  Up and down the three hills behind my house, around the ball park trail a couple of times and around the cemeteries.

I saw a few deer running around the park.
Lisa was out running and I saw a walker too.  Down by the Drane house a man was taking pictures.  I stopped to chat with him and we talked about how beautiful this area is especially early in the morning.

A state trooper was at the edge of town doing radar and on my way home I saw that he had nabbed a speeder through town.

I walked 6.1 miles - 11,742 steps.

We took a break from work up at Happy Trails today and went up to Uniontown in Ken's car.  There is a brand new Michael's store there and we went to check it out.  It has a much smaller yarn department than I am used to and I didn't find anything to buy but I did pick up a couple of things for the Fall Box Display in the foyer.
Looked around a few more stores while we were there too - Staples, Lowes, and Ollies.
Had lunch out in a little Chinese place in a strip mall which had very good food.

On the way home we stopped at a store that sells county decorating items and Amish made furniture.  We have passed this store a few times but today was the first time we stopped in.  I love this store!!!  I wanted to buy everything in it and redecorate the whole house but settled on buying a piece of lace to put on the front bay window ledge.  Mrs Swan looks right at home sitting there. : )
When I got home I added the fall items I bought to the ones already in the box display and this is what it now looks like.  It was fun making it fall looking and I look forward to decorating in December with Christmas items.  Thanks Vee and Deb for such a good idea. : )
It's been good day out but nice to be back home again.
Hope your day was sunny and bright.

It sounds as though you had a very good day. It is a good thing you were not walking above the speed limit, or that trooper would have caught you.:-) I really like what you have done to the display in your entry.

It looks so delightfully autumnal...very cheery! Oh I love your new piece of lace. It really complements the shape of the space. You're going to enjoy shopping in that store!

I love what you have done with your boxes! How festive! Can't wait to see what you do at Christmas! I love the Amish lace. I want to go to that store too. I am fascinated by the Amish and their way of life. That swan looks so good on the new lace. Have a wonderful Friday.

What fun you must be having exploring the new shops and restaurants in your new area. Even more fun to have found one that you like so well.
I clicked on the photos to get an up close look. That lace is so pretty. I LOVE your fall display. Oh the fun you are going to have changing it for the seasons.

Don't walk too fast now, not with that trooper on patrol! It sounds like a nice day for you. Art

I think that first pic is my favorite of all the pics you've ever posted on here :) something so scenic about the autumn fog.
