Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

A walk, an auction and cookies

There was definitely a nip in the air this morning.  Only 35 degrees, with bit of a wind.  Some frost around too.  It was nice though, I love this cool walking weather.
The moon was still looking pretty out there too.  Not looking as big as last night but still picture worthy.
I walked up and down the main street in town until the sky lighted up a bit and then walked the farm loop.  Since it was Saturday I didn't have to worry about the traffic on the school road.

Very quiet out there this morning,  just few rabbits and cows were about.
I walked 6.1 miles - 11,618 steps.
Sunrise: 7:32
Sunset: 6:32
I made pancakes for breakfast on my new counter tops and washed the dishes in my new sink.  : )

We headed out to an auction soon afterwards in Oakland.  It was a moving sale auction and it was held in part of a building that was  some kind of metal factory.  This side was roped off.
And the other side was where all the stuff was.  There was more stuff outside too.
After a while I wandered around outside a bit and took this picture.
We bid on a couple of things but didn't get them -  a rocking chair for the porch and some wooden snack trays.
What we did get was these Easter egg and candy dishes, a cute little candle and two little bunnies.  It was all in one box and we got it for just $2.  The candy dishes still had the price tags on them.  Each one was $10.99.
After supper I made some Welsh Cookies and will have some for my snack later on.

And so another day is nearing it's end.
Hope you had a good one.

  1. How fun it must be to prepare food in your new kitchen with the new counters and sink!!
I'm in the process of baking chocolate chip cookies. Our weather is cooling off and it seemed like a good baking day. No frost on the horizon yet, however.
Wow, great score at the auction. That's a lot of cute Easter items for $2.

  2. I can tell that you had fun in your kitchen! The sink looks wonderful, by the way. The shots of the moon have been fantastic. You inspired me to go out last night, but it's just a silver moon in a sky. Nothing of any significance. I need to drive somewhere to get the shot. No walking for me.

Good haul on the candy dishes. There's a rocking chair somewhere with your name on it!

  3. Those are such cute East decorations. You got a great bargain. These auctions you go to sound like lots of fun! 35 degrees is a bit on the cool side, but your pictures are great as usual. Enjoy your Sunday.

  4. Oooh, that's a frosty morning! Pretty shot of the moon over the cornfield.

I like your pretty Easter accessories. What a deal!

  5. Love that moon shot! Beautiful. We had our first frost this morning! I'm excited!
