Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Ladies lunch

A random walk for me this morning - no special route.  We got quite a bit of rain last night and it looked like more was on the way so I took along my umbrella.  I started off walking over by the liquor store and found some coins!!  A quarter, a nickel and nine pennies!

I walked along paths and sidewalks.  Saw a few people on the sidewalks but no one on the paths.
Walking along the sidewalk I saw Ken driving up the road.  I flagged him down and gave him my umbrella because the sun looked like it was coming out and I didn't feel like carrying the umbrella.  Then it clouded up again and I thought it would rain, but it never did.

I didn't see any wildlife except for birds -  unusual.

I walked 6 miles.

I finished reading These is My Words by Nancy E Turner and thought it was excellent.  It was a library book but I'd like to have a copy of my own, it was that good.
Gone with the Wind is my favorite book and I put this book right under it.  I don't want to say too much about it because I don't want to give anything away so I just posted pictures of the front and back cover.

It was the mother/daughter lunch at church today and I left a little early to help with the food.  All mothers and daughter are invited, you don't have to go together so really if your female you are invited.
We ate salad, soup, and bread all from Denny's.  We had a musical number trio of two sisters and a mother sing Amazing Grace so beautifully it made me cry, one of the women gave a short devotional and a story was read for the children while they sat on quilts on the floor.
Much talking and laughter and just a fun time to be among these lovely women.  I will surely miss them when we move away.
Here are all the place settings waiting for people to sit at.
A close up.  Inside the paper flowers are 4 Hersey kisses.
And this is the cake the Jennifer made.
I got home about 1:30 and was sitting down telling Ken about my time out and a few minutes later we got a call saying someone wanted to look at the house between 2 and 3.  So we picked up a few things fast and headed out the door at 1:45.  We no sooner got out of the driveway and some people showed up.  We left and came home at 2:45 and there were some other people at the house so we just drove past and waited until they left and then went inside.  Nice to know people are looking at it already.

It's been a nice Saturday and Ken and I hope that one of those people today want to buy our house and we will get a contract later today!!   I know that is just wishful thinking, but still we can't help but think that. : )

Hope you're having a great Saturday.

Auntie - Yes, we have 5 more windows being on an end unit and it is a nice and bright house.
I hope you're right!

Betsy - No, we won't be moving in early because the sellers have asked to stay in the house until the end of July and we have no problem with that.

The pictures that Jack took of the our townhouse yesterday are HERE.

Love the photos they took of your townhome... It's just so neat and clean and no clutter at all... Nothing like my house!!!!! ha

Hope it sells quickly --but since you can't move into the new home early, what will you do? Store your furniture and live at the trailer at Happy Trails---OR rent a place for a few months????? Questions--questions...

I am truly so happy for you all --and EXCITED for you.
Hugs,
Betsy

Those paper flowers are beautiful. Someone went to a lot of trouble making them. The cake looks delicious.

I hope your house sells quickly!

Keep thinking positively about the sale of your house. It could sell in a flash.

I have read These is My Words and also really liked it! So glad you enjoyed it. It is an excellent book and it is set in Arizona! That Mother's Day luncheon at your church looks like a lovely event! How nice! I know you will find another church you love in your new town, because God is everywhere! Hope you are able to sell your house soon. It is kind of a pain to have to pick up and leave at a moment's notice every time someone wants to walk through it. Have a wonderful Mother's Day!!

What a lovely idea for Mothers Day lunch, it looks so pretty. We had our Mothers Day back in March here in the UK. Hope you are well x

Wow, wouldn't that be wonderful if your house did sell that quickly. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I checked out the pictures and can see no reason why it wouldn't sell quickly. It is so nice and clean.
The book sounds like one I would enjoy. I'm putting it on my list of books to read.
