Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Dried apricots

I walked around the lake again this morning.  It was a gray morning but at the end of my walk the sun looked like it was trying to come out.
I saw a few deer, some red winged black birds, cardinals, the usual geese, and a tiny little gray bird that I don't know what it was.  This bunny let me get close so I could take his picture.
The usual amount of people around the lake.  I don't see too many people riding bikes on the path but there were a couple today.  I often see this man with his camera taking pictures.  Once I asked him if he had a blog but he said he just takes pictures for himself.
This picture of all the ferns I took walking down the path behind the church.
By the time I made it back home the sun was trying to come out.
I walked 6.2 miles.

While I was walking Ken left with a truck load up to Happy Trails.  Everything we can bring up there now is one less trip when we finally move.  He is going to put this load in the tractor barn and for the next couple of months we will keep the tractor outside.  He's coming back home tomorrow.  I decided to stay home this trip.  I want to get more stuff packed away and have the house spic and span for tomorrow morning because a man is coming to take pictures of the house.
I've had a frustrating half hour of trying to get a couple of screens back in the windows.  There is some very easy way to do it but I just can't seem to figure it out.  I've had this problem before.  I was NOT happy trying to get it done and though I hated not being able to do it ended up just putting the screens back in the garage.
Then it was lunch time and my peanut butter and jelly sandwich put me in a better mood. : )

I was happy that the sun came out because I got three loads of laundry washed and hung out on the lines.

I've been eating lots of dried apricots lately.  I love these things.  It is like eating candy.  So sweet and delicious.
It's kind of nice having the whole day all to myself. : )  I plan on vacuuming all floors and then sitting out on the deck reading until I make myself pancakes for supper.

Hope your Thursday is filled with sunshine.
Happyone : )

That saying may be true but I don't think that would be possible for me. : )  I would just have to say something!!!

Vee - HT is 158 miles away from the lake.  It takes us 2 1/2 to 3 hours to get there.  There are no lakes that I can walk to but I do have that little pond in town.

Kim - No, I'll be sorry to leave my dentist but won't be making the trip back down.  The sellers of the house have already recommended a good dentist to us.  I'll just take my cookies there when I go. : )

Nellie - I give the cookies to Cheryl and she puts them at her station and shares them with everyone.  I'm pretty sure she holds some back and takes them home. : )  It is such a pleasure for me to see the expressions on their faces when they taste a cookie.  They are like little kids.  It makes my heart smile. : )

I love those lush green ferns! I'll have to give those dried apricots a try. I have had dried apple slices that love those. Have a happy evening!

I thought about vacuuming my house today too, but so far it hasn't happened. Oops! I guess you have a better incentive for getting things spic and span. I worked outside a bit and then had an eye dr. appt. My eyes are still dilated so I'm doing some very blurry blogging :)
We love those apricots too. A tasty and healthy treat.

Oh you'll be leaving quite a few things behind and saying hello to lots of new friends. Hope that the new dentist likes cookies! And the new hairdresser! Cheryl is not going to be happy. There are some screens here that are a two-person job.

It is unusual for a rabbit to stay still for a picture. I tried to catch one in our front yard, but he moved too quickly. You will really be moving a distance away! I hope you will be able to find people and places that you will enjoy at Happy Trails. When we moved here nine years ago, we only changed neighborhoods, not all the other familiar people and places. In fact, we've lived in this area over 40 years!

Dried fruit is like nature's candy. I love the dried apricots and dried prunes. Cute bunny! Screens can be frustrating. Art
