Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Cheese Cake Lunch

Raining pretty hard when I woke up so I dressed in my rain paints and brought along my umbrella on my walk this morning.  It was 57 degrees.
I walked over to the lake and by the time I got there it had stopped raining already.  It got brighter and never did rain again until later after I was already back home.
There were no people around as I walked the first half of the lake, but then there were quite a few people about.

There were so many rabbits around that I didn't even count them.  Lots of deer too.  All the usual birds and also a couple of Blue Birds and a Red Tailed Hawk.  I stopped to watch a Robin dig up and eat two worms.  Also watched a heron walking along the edge of the water.
This is the first turtle I've seen in a long time.  He was just a little thing.  He was walking along but went in his shell when I stopped to take his picture.  At least he couldn't run away and before his picture was taken. : )
Said good bye to a couple more walker friends.
I walked 6.4 miles.

Tuesday again and I went to my knitting group.   Small group - only 8 of us there.  I  knitted on the baby blanket from last week.

While I was at knitting Ken went to Sears and bought a small upright freezer.   We will put it in the tractor barn until we move into the new house.  I am going to cook some stuff up and then we will have food already made for when we are living in the trailer for those 6 weeks.

When I got home we went out again to the Cheesecake Factory and had dessert for lunch.  We were going to do that Thursday on my birthday but since we won't be here and I'll be helping put a roof on the upper shed we went a couple of days early.  Here's what we ordered.  I forgot the name of what Ken ordered by mine was called The 30th Anniversary.  Oh my goodness was it ever good.
I'm glad I didn't try to eat a lunch because I couldn't even finish the dessert.  This is what I took home and will finish it later.  I don't even want to know how many calories are in it because it was worth every single one!!! : )
Ken will be loading the truck up with another load later today and we will head up to HT in the morning.  We are hoping to get the roof finished so we can bring the rest of our things up.

A happy day to you my friends.

Nellie - Closing on the townhouse is June 18 - three weeks from today.
Goosey - I will miss my walks around here but it is beautiful in western Maryland and will enjoy my walks there too.  As long as I can walk I'll be fine. : )

A chest freezer, to put made-ahead meals in. Smart.

And you'll make good use of it, when you move to new house too.

Oh wow, some Birthday Lunch! Happy Birthday, ahead of time!

Cute little turtle. They really come, with such colorful markings? You can see, I know nothing of turtles, hu?

Oh, my! Cheesecake! What an appropriate way to celebrate your birthday early!

I hope you will have good weather at Happy Trails so you will be able to do the work you have planned.

That cheesecake looks delicious. I'm sure that was fun. You two will be working hard for a few days, so you will work off the calories! You do see lots of wildlife; wonder if they will miss you. I don't know how their minds work. MJ

What a beautiful photo of the GBH. I love the little box turtle. Don't worry about the calories, you burn way more than the average person and you don't eat cheesecake every day (I suspect). :) Enjoy the week, and have a very happy birthday. Art

Smart to cook up some meals for the freezer while you are living in the trailer. Great idea!!!!

Splendid idea! I've done it at home, but never out. One thing is certain, you need not worry about those calories. I'm sure that you've already used them!

Happy Birthday for Thursday and yes cheesecake is the way to celebrate! Calories don't count on special occasions and you are so active anyway. Those look like very special cheesecakes too, and you saved some for later. It's almost unheard of here to take home food from a restaurant but perhaps that is because portions are smaller. I'm very impressed by how quickly your house sale is going through. Here (and I've just checked) you can count on at least 3 months, no idea why.
