Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

A day of packing

It was a chilly 42 degrees again this morning when I walked but it wasn't windy and the sun was shining brightly.   Such a beautiful morning and perfect for walking around the lake.
There were quite a few people out there this morning walking, running, and fishing at the shore line and in boats.  This picture shows a couple of boats and their reflections.
More of the geese are back and I walked past this group of them
and only got hissed at once.
Here's a few baby ones as well.
I saw a few rabbits, deer and the usual birds.
I was out walking a little longer than usual this morning because I stopped to talk to some of my walker friends to tell them I was moving and to say good bye.  There are a few others I'd still like to say good bye to.

I walked 6 miles.
Here's a couple more picture of the lake.  I took these yesterday.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today we boxed up lots of kitchen stuff.  At one point we ran out of boxes and paper and went driving around behind stores trying to find some.  We hit the mother load of boxes in back of a Pet Smart and found a bunch of newspapers someone had thrown away.  Back home we boxed up everything in the kitchen that we wouldn't be needing until we are in the new house!!
Most everything is out of my loft too.  The table, chair, keyboard and empty cabinet is all that is left.
Things are moving along nicely and we don't feel rushed doing a little each day.
We are going to have a time of it when it comes to unpacking because we aren't packing anything in order.  All kinds of things are mixed together and we haven't marked anything.  What fun it will be to open up boxes and have no idea what will be in it.  : )
I did a couple loads of laundry.  I've taken the clothes off the line but they are all stacked up on the bed waiting to be folded.  And that is just what I'm going to do now.
I usually fold them on the island in the kitchen but it was covered in packing material when I brought them in so just took them upstairs.
Hope your day was sunny and bright and you spent some time remembering all the men and women who died so we could enjoy this day.  (even though the real Memorial Day is May 30 - my birthday)  : )
Happyone : )
You are making excellent progress in packing and sound calm and confident about the move. The lake is very pretty, with the reflections in it.
You have such a beautiful area for your walking! Naughty goose for hissing at you! You are a nice person, and the geese should appreciate you! Wonderful progress with the packing! Refresh my memory. When is the closing date for the townhouse?
You are going to miss that beautiful walk when you move--but you'll find new beauty around your new home.
Glad you are getting things packed gradually. That is the best way to do it!!!!!
Happy Memorial Day --and Happy Birthday on the 30th.
Hugs,
Betsy
You are doing great on your packing. It will be a challenge when you unpack the unmarked boxes. ;-)
Happy early Birthday to you.
Will you have good walks where you are going? I hate packing but it will be worth it when you get there:-)
I love these pictures of the lake. I am afraid you will miss walking around the lake when you move, but I am sure there will be beautiful places to walk near your new home. I love the wild life you see every day! Happy birthday this week! Have a great day. Packing and unpacking to move is a huge job, but it is always a new opportunity to reorganize and make life even better!
Hooray for packing, ahead of time. Eliminate the rush!
Well since the stuff you are packing now is not stuff you need to live each day, marking the boxes would not really be necessary. When you start packing the stuff you need right away for the next house, at least labeling the room they should be in would be helpful.
