Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

What will he come home with?!!!

Back home and back to my walking paths.  I thought about walking around the lake but since it is Saturday and crowded with all the runners I walked my connect the path route instead.
The paths have really greened up this past week while we were gone and the beautiful red bud trees are in bloom now.   I think they are such a pretty color.
It was a bit chilly at 45 degrees and a bit windy.  Glad that all the rain from last night stopped and the sun came out.

I didn't see any deer but did see a red tailed hawk fly right over my head and then land on a tree branch.  I was lucky to get this picture of him.
There were a few dog walkers out, a couple runners and I stopped to talk to Petey and John just about in the spot where I took the picture of the path.

It was a lovely morning for walking.
I walked 6.2 miles.

Ken left at about the same time as I did and went to a farm equipment auction.  I thought about going but wanted to walk and had a few things I needed to get done around the house after being gone all week.
He thought he'd be back by lunch time but lunch time passed and I got hungry so I ate a baked potato and peas.
Ken called me at 1:40 to tell me he wouldn't be home for lunch - he was having a good time and didn't realize lunch had come and gone.  I asked if he got any good stuff and his answer was,
"Oh, yes!!.  I won't tell you now but will surprise you when I get home.  There is some good stuff in the last aisle I'm waiting for so won't be home for a couple more hours."  So now here I sit wondering what kinds of good stuff and what on earth will he come home with later!! : )

So till then I'm going to finish sewing up the last few squares to the latest baby blanket and then read.

Hope your Saturday is a good one.
Give your smile to a stranger and more than likely it will be returned to you.
Happyone : )

and give us the grace to enjoy what now is
and to keep striving after what ought to be.

Oh, my! Be ready for a surprise!

We occasionally spy a red-tailed hawk here, but not too often at all, and I never have my camera with me. I don't think he perches anywhere near, though.

I love surprises....
I thought about you today. A friend posted on facebook that she was so sad that her neighbors were moving and it was so hard to say goodbye. I gave her a cyber hug and told her something you told me about 28 years ago...If you don't blink, the tears won't come out....and I also shared with her that 28 years later and thanks to technology, we are blogging buddies. Love you Karen, always and forever my friend! Pam
