Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Ice

The temperature was 29 degrees and there was a coating of ice over everything and that is the one thing that keeps me from walking.  So no walk for me today. : (
We finished the three puzzles yesterday, looked at them for the day and then this morning I took them apart and put them away for next time.
This is the last work week for Ken with Thursday being his last day.  I've been teasing him asking if he was going to get a gold watch from work for retiring.  Yeah right, he says people don't get gold watches anymore.
So I went out and bought him a gold watch and had it engraved.  I've had it for the last few weeks and it has been so hard not to give it to him.  I was going to wait until Thursday but just couldn't wait any longer and gave it to him last night.  His reaction was all and more than I expected.  He was REALLY surprised and touched and even had a tear or two.  The picture is a bit blurry but it was hard to get a picture because of the reflection.
I'll be home inside today getting some housework done and doing a bit of this and that around the house.  Not sure what the rest of the day will bring but I'm sure going to enjoy doing it. : )

Hope you have sunshine in your part of the world.
Till next time.......
A happy day to you.

Oh and you even made me have a tear or two and I retired long ago. =D That is just so sweet, Karen. How truly touched Ken must have been. (And a guy can always use two gold watches should his company actually come through.)

I like your puzzles...is the second one of a vintage stove? Can't quite make out the last unless it is a garden.

Wise choice not to walk with ice glazing everything. Very wise!

The watch is beautiful. That was such a sweet thing for you to do. And now I know that your name is Karen. I have a sister in law with that name so I won't forget.

What a wonderful surprise gift! Glad you decided not to brave the ice! It really doesn't take much ice to cause real problems.

I'm glad the watch went over so well with Ken. You two are a very special couple.
You're not the only one staying in today.

Oh Karen, that is such a thoughtful and beautiful gift and the engraving is the icing on the cake. I know Ken will treasure it always.
How exciting to be in the final week of work. I am looking forward to hearing about your days once Ken is retired. I know that you 2 will keep busy.
