Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

No walking today

Just a quick post this morning.  It is still raining out but the wind has died down to just a normal wind now.  The rain gauge on the deck is over flowing so I don't know how much rain we got over 5 inches or have yet to get.
Ken stayed home from work and thought it was a good idea for me not to walk so I listened to him and stayed home, though it was hard for me not to go. : )
There is flooding all over the place and many streets are closed.
I would have liked to see how high the streams have gotten but I will be able to do that tomorrow!

Planning on staying home today and having a nice cozy day of it.
I am thankful that we never did lose power, though we had a lot of flickering of lights.

Hope all of you in the path of Sandy have weathered the storm and are safe and all those going through it now remain safe.

Till next time.....
A happy day to you.

That's a lot of rain! Ken is so wise as are you. I never forget that year that we lost a dear friend to a falling tree branch after a hurricane. He was checking on things after the storm. I had actually hoped that some of my neighbor's dead limbs would fall off those oak trees. They're still up there. Sigh.

Enjoy your day!

Thank you for updating us!!!

You got the rain, we got almost none.

With flooding in your neck of the woods, it's wise to stay at home. You can do your exercise tape. :-)

Glad to hear you didn't lose power. Yes, sounds like a good day to stay home and read a good book or watch movies :)
Be safe!

I call that a wise choice. You'll survive rain, but getting hit by a falling tree or branch is not so cool. I know it feels strange but you'll be out there soon enough.

Glad you are okay... I have been thinking about you. So sad to see so much devastation from that storm.

Bet your Happy Trails area has LOTS of snow today!!!
Hugs,
Betsy

Probably a smart move not to venture out in the rain and the wind! It's good to hear that you escaped any power outage thus far.

All is well here! xo Nellie

Glad to know that you are safe and sound. I heard Maryland mentioned a lot on CNN last night and hoped you were faring well.
I think Ken was wise to have you stay inside this morning, although I know that must have been hard for you.
Hope you are enjoying a warm and cozy day.

Thought about you last night watching the news and hoped your area of Maryland wasn't too hard hit. I know what you mean about missing a day of walking...I think I am "addicted" to walking and sure miss it when I can't walk or do some sort of exercise! Guess it is a good thing to be "addicted" to. Hope you are able to dry out a bit soon. It is still hot, sunny and dry here is Arizona!

I didn't even think of falling branches when you said Ken didn't think you should walk. I'm glad you didn't. Weren't we so lucky not to lose power? And aren't rain pants the best?

I'm glad to hear that the only problem Sandy caused was that you didn't get in your walk. But then, Ken got to stay home, so hopefully that made up for no walk.

Glad you did not venture out after hearing about people getting killed from falling trees during the storm. Sounds like your area was pretty lucky as mine was too.
