Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.
~Groucho Marx

This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

The Sign is up : )

It was the chillest morning yet with a temperature of 40 degrees.  It had that nice crisp fall feeling in the air.  The sun came up and there was a pretty blue sky for it to shine in - good walking weather.

No special route today - walked paths and roads.  I was walking down one path and there were three workers standing around talking.  Told me that there was a big machine up ahead and the man driving it doesn't look where's he going.  So I thanked them for the warning and said I'd just go up to the road.  So I did and came back down to the path a few blocks over.
We got brand new paths and now they are just clearing things up along them.  They dug up all along the side and put in some kind of cable.
Didn't pass anyone else along the paths but did see a few runners along the road.
I saw two deer who both ran into the woods as soon they saw me.  Sometimes they linger to take a look at me but not these.
As usual I enjoyed being out walking first thing in the morning.  Always a good start to my day.
I walked 6.5 miles.

Rushed around this morning doing a few things and getting ready to leave the house. Made a stop at Target before heading to the Tuesday morning kitting group.

The floor at the mill was refinished and the smell drove us outside for our knitting group.  Even though it was cool out we were in a protected area and the sun was shining so it was perfect for sitting outside knitting.  As usual I enjoyed the knitting time and being  with my knitting friends.  I'm working on a pair of slippers for my friend Mary Jo.

From there I went over to the old house to take the recycling can in and lo and behold look what I saw.  Yes, the For Sale sign!!  : )
Check out the listing HERE.  There are loads of pictures of inside and out.  They really did a good job with them.  I was going to publish a post later this evening, but I'm so excited about having the sign up that I wanted to tell someone. : )

I'm home now for the rest of the day.  I have a few things that I have to get done and then it will be time for a little reading.

Hope your day is happy and bright.
Live in such a way that you would not be ashamed
to sell your parrot to the town gossip.
~Will Rogers

  1. You have had a busy day! I hope you will have some interest in the house.

  2. I'm not going to be selling my parrot to the town gossip thank you very much. LOL!

Took the tour and enjoyed it very much. They did do a good job because I think that house is terrific...loads of charm and beautiful updates and it's ready to move right in. All the best. Hope that you get lots of interest and a quick sale.

Sounds like brisk walking this morning. That's only four degrees warmer than we were. Yikes.

  3. You're already working on my slippers? Wow! Thanks so much. MJ

  4. I just took the tour. The house is shining clean, just waiting for some family to enjoy. Oh, the kids will have fun in that yard! You two did an excellent job preparing the house to sell. Hope you have lots of folks interested! MJ

  5. Hooray for the sign being up! What a nice surprise for you. The house is so cute. I know somebody will be thrilled to find it. I'm off to take the tour now.

  6. The house sure is cute. I remember a picture you posted once with sunflowers in the yard and I loved it. Good luck!

  7. Oh, my! I thought I had heard or read all the things ever attributed to Will Rogers, but this is a new one! LOVE IT, and it reminds me of a parakeet that we had when I was a kid. He said "shut the d*** door" when it was opened and I was soooooo humiliated as a teenager when the pastor came to pick me up to babysit for his children. On they way out he hesitated and the bird shouted his phrase loud and clear just as we went out. My dad thought it was hilarious. I was mortified!

Have a great week...your walking record is an inspiration!!

  8. ...the goodness of your heart reflects in your words...

  9. Hi There - I'm liking these cool mornings. Best of luck selling the house. The sign is a good sign - ha! Art

  10. Hooray!!!

And what a great listing, on the Net.

You know what I'm thinking? Your old neighbors must be "on pins and needles." Because we know the neighbors we have or had. We never know the neighbors, we WILL GET. ,-)

For your old neighbors sakes, I hope the new ones, are as nice as you were.

(Who is still making discoveries, on this ding-dang-New-Blogger!)

  11. I am happy for you that the listing is up. It is a very nice old house.

Hello my friend.
