Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

The roving balloon

It was a hot sticky morning for walking today but I was happy to be able to take my regular walk and not to have to cut it short. My walk took me around the lake and crowds of people were there all getting their exercise in before the heat of the day.

I saw a mocking bird - haven't seen one of them for a while.  A few rabbits were eating grass on the edge of the path and then hopping away as I walked by.   I stopped on the red footbridge to just enjoy looking at the lake and that is where I took the picture.

I found a lucky penny and this mornings walk I took 12,570 steps.

This balloon has been roving around the house since my birthday in May.  I can't believe it has lasted this long.  It's lost most of its air but can be seen floating around yet a times.  Here it is making a trip down the stairs.
Today has been a stay at home day getting some much needed cleaning done around the house.
I've started window cleaning also and have done the kitchen and our bedroom windows.  Just for a change I've switched around the curtains too. The kitchen curtains now hang in the bedroom and the bedroom ones in the kitchen.  I wonder if Ken will notice the change. : )

Hope you are enjoying your Monday.

The birthday balloon just keeps on going and going and going. Do you have any of the birthday cake left in the freezer?

That balloon is cracking me up! It's taken on a life of its own, I guess. That quote is so good...I know people like this. Wait, I may be people like this. Ha!

I'm guessing that Ken will notice that something is different, but it will be some time before he realizes you switched the curtains.

Those balloons are so entertaining!

You've been very ambitious today. That is a lot of steps! Changing the curtains will give a new look.

Your birthday balloon is very cute and I think it likes you. Where you walk is idyllic and when I see a coin on the sidewalk I am reminded "In God we trust."

What a great idea to swap the curtains round! You will miss the birthday balloon when it finally deflates. Happy window cleaning.

Those mylar balloons can last quite a while. Before our kitty died he would love to play with them and bat them around. I am doing some much needed cleaning and organizing today too, so thanks for the inspiration to keep going! I love the paint on the bottom part of your wall going up the stairs. What a great color. Have a good week!

Hi Karen, I wish I had some of your inspiration about cleaning the inside of our home... We keep it straight (picked up, bed made, dishes washed, etc.) ---but don't 'clean' as much as I should.... I'd rather be working in the yard. Oh Well---priorities, I guess.

Hugs

I couldn't change my kitchen and bedroom curtains but now you have me thinking about some others that it would work to switch. Sometimes the little things make a big difference.

Cracking up over the wandering balloon. I've had a few visit me!
