Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself;
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today.
I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet.
I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.

The Travel Trailer

It was 62 degrees this morning and the humidity was starting to creep up again.  The weather looked liked it could have gone either way.  Rain or sun but it did neither and was just cloudy.
I walked around the lake and went in the opposite direction for a change.  I do that every once in a while.  Also on the way home I walked along the road instead of taking the path behind the church.
Lots of people out around the lake this morning.  Walkers, runners, bike riders, people with strollers, and fishermen.
I saw a blue bird and a goldfinch both sitting on the same branch.  Just couldn't get a picture of them though.
I counted 6 rabbits and I saw the first geese family that I took a picture of.  The babies are so big now they are hard to tell from their parents.  Here they are about to get out of the water.
Over on the other side of the lake I saw this one geese with just two little ones.  Odd to see only one adult and babies.
I walked 6 miles.

We had an appointment at 2:00  at the RV dealer to go over the travel trailer and to have a lesson on using it.  I went over to the old house and met Ken there since it was closer to where he works.  It was easier for me to go there than for him to come and get me.

I went over the house in the morning and got the front and back lawn mowed.  I was just finishing up when my friend Lin walked by and she stopped by to talk.  Lin is the friend that often calls me when I'm walking in the morning and we 'walk and talk' then.  Nice to see her in person. : )

I got changed into some clean clothes and by then Ken got there and we went to the RV dealer for our lesson.

The trailer was waiting there for us all cleaned up and looking nice and after our walk through and lesson I took some pictures.  Here it is.  It is 28 feet long.
Here we are in the kitchen.  You can see the bathroom down at the end.
The shower which I love!!
This is the storage in the bathroom.
The couch which is pretty comfortable.  You can see the bedroom just to the right.
Here's the bed.  It was hard to get a good picture in such a small area.  The bed takes up the whole space, but there is a little room to walk on both sides of the bed to make it easy to make.
A very nice feature that was a bonus for us is this outdoor kitchen.
The trailer is just perfect for the two of us. We are not that crazy about the colors inside, kind of drab but I can put some color in it with some accessories.  It will be so nice to have this comfortable place to stay while we build our barn shed and eventually the cabin.
The trailer will get delivered up to our land next Friday.

After we left the RV dealer not long after it started raining really hard and it still is.  I certainly won't have to water any plants outside this evening!

We put the rest of the birthday cake in the freezer and will have the rest in a week or two.  Tonight we go back to having some ice cream for our snack.

So that's it for today.
Hope your Friday was a good one.

  1. Cool travel travel trailer. I love looking at the pictures and you will need to add more once you have added your own stuff in it.

This weekend I am going down to my son's camp ground in Southern MD. They have a trailer there as well. You know I will be taking pictures. Lots of them. And sharing them on my blog as well.

    Great fun. Great shots.

  3. Your trailer brought back wonderful memories of my youth, when my Dad was stationed in Alaska and Newfoundland, Canada. Our family did a lot of camping and fishing almost every weekend. M brother and I fished from the bank while our father wore the waders in the water, fly fishing. Ahh, such great memories. You will make many of your own I'm sure, enjoy!

  4. Oh it just looks wonderful! So much nicer for you than what you have been doing. Phew. Now when you're hot, dry, and dusty, you can shower, make supper, and relax an evening away. You'll make it into a little home away from home in no time. I have no doubts about that.

John and I drove by The Freedom Cafe in Naples today and we thought of you!

  5. Great travel trailer. There is so much storage and with full kitchens and bathroom it is like a small house. Will make things so much better for the both of you while you are building. I enjoy the pictures you post of the progress of your storage shed and eventually the cabin.

  6. That is going to be so nice for you and Ken. A nice little retreat when you're done working for the day. I have no doubts that you will cheer up the colors with some of your pretty afghans .

  7. That's a nice trailer - love the outdoor kitchen. You can sleep comfortably and without all the bugs! Be careful though. On our last camping trip we were outside sitting around the campfire and accidentally left the door slightly open. Bugs swarmed in (to the lights inside) and we had a time getting rid of them!

  8. OH THAT IS JUST SUPER!!!!!!! I am so glad for you! What a wonderful item this will be, for you both to have!

And yes, you can pop-up the colors, by pillows and throws and a quilt and this and that. They probably produce them, in very neutral colors, to fit into many buyer's expectations.

I'm not one, for "camping," myself. But this little home-away-from-home looks just so cute, to me. It does. :-)

I am so happy/excited for you! I really am.

This way, and that, she peers, and sees

  9. And your pic of geese reminds me... We see lots and lots of geese in this city area, because lots of them live in the city park. But I seldom if ever see geese.

Coming home from shopping, on a bit of rural area, along side the road we spied a family... Moma/Dadddy and 3 babies. But wow, those babies were pretty big! :-) And wondered where their-body-of-water was...

Ahh, I see that your first pic, is of more mature 'babies' too. And the 2nd pic is of newer hatchlings. So, they seem to produce 2 broods a summer...
