Someone told me this path is called the bunny trail. |
I walked over to the lake and walked around it keeping to the left which is the opposite direction I usually walk.
I guess the weather kept a lot of people home because there weren't many of us out there today.
The drill Sargent is back again this year. I have seen her on her own a few times running or walking around the lake but today she was out there with a new group of people who she yells at to get them in shape which is why I call her the drill Sargent. There were only three people with her this time and they all looked like they were dying. I just think that is so unnecessary to push yourself that much. How are they ever going to learn to enjoy their exercise if it is torture to get out there. Just saying......
Not long after I started walking a very slight drizzle started. So light that it was just about dry under the trees. The drizzle picked up just a bit but still not enough to get me wet. Later when I was about a mile from home it really started to rain and I got soaked. But by that time I was sweating anyway so the rain felt good and cooled me off.
I saw some rabbits, a turtle, the geese families but no deer.
I walked 6 miles.

I noticed a townhouse in my neighborhood the other day with a For Sale sign up. I'm wondering how long it will take to sell.We are watching a documentary called Wild China on a DVD from Netflix and it is really good. We have watched the first disc and have one to go. They show some amazing animals and the scenery is spectacular!!! Some of the animals I've never even heard of before.
The people sure do eat some creepy things - things I could NOT eat even if I was starving - like bee larvae!!!
I went through some more pictures today and I've deleted more than I've saved. Some of my pictures of scenes and just things that have caught my eye and are NOT on my photo blog I've moved to Flicker. Not that many though.
I have more pictures still to go through. Looking through all of these pictures makes me think that from now on I'm not going to save so many so I won't have to go through this again. From now on I will only be saving a few.
I like taking them more than I do looking at them again.
I get tired of taking out the iron board and lugging it down the stairs every time I need to iron and sometimes I just don't iron because I don't feel like getting it out.
There is an extra very small bedroom upstairs that things just accumulate in. I had it fixed up as a guest room but it is never used so today I cleaned it out and threw away a few bags of junk. I set up the ironing board in there with iron, hangers and the clothes that need to be ironed and I can leave it all out and now can just go and iron whenever I feel like it. I can bring my laptop in and can listen to music or even pop in a DVD to watch. Another good thing is that I can just close the door and not look at it.
I should go and do some ironing now but will save that for tomorrow and make a little time for reading now.
May your day be one in which you find bits of happiness scattered through out it.

Before you speak ask yourself
if what you are going to say
is true, is kind, is necessary, is helpful.
If the answer is no,
maybe what you are about to say
should be left unsaid.

Hi, I am your newest follower. Enjoyed reading your positive post this morning. Looking forward to more. Looks like you live in a beautiful area of the country! Have a great week!
Lovely quote!
and a GREAT idea to leave the ironing board up in the unused bedroom.
I wish I had a spare room for that. One reason I never iron is going to the trouble of setting the ironing board up.
That is a good idea. I have my yarn room and recently we put a TV up there. I think I will set up my ironing board and leave it set up unless we have company. It would be so easy to put the board away when we have guests.
I would prefer your method of getting daily exercise to that of the drill sargeant's. Sounds a bit too intense for me.
I can relate to your ironing board issue. Mine is kept in a coat closet and I rarely feel like fighting with the coats to get it out of there. Your new plan sounds like a winner.
One of the reasons I hate to iron is the bother that it is to set up the ironing board, and then have to put it away. About the only time I really need to iron is when I sew. Have a good evening.
We all need our "space" where we feel comfortable. I remember when you made over that room, so cozy and cheerful.
Wonderful quote by Melzer!
Ironing isn't my favorite chore.:( We bought a steamer in April, and that seemed to work rather well. It is still something that takes extra time, though. That would probably be a source of "bits of happiness," though. Happy that I am still able to do the laundry, and happy that I am still able to iron - whether I choose to do it or not.:) We are truly blessed.:)
Hi Karen, When George worked in China, he always said that he NEVER asked what he was eating there... It's better not to know!!!!! ha
Great place for the ironing board and iron. It has been years and years since I have ironed ANYTHING... ha
Hugs,
Betsy
Excellent new use for that formerly unused room! Formerly just a "stuff" collector.
An ironing room. Be still my heart. :-)
Wonder what kind of a person, willingly submits to a "drill sargent"? And pays for it too. Yikes!

Love the quote. My ironing board is an old simple wooden one which is light and easy to open. I don't have a tumble drier so I iron most things to make sure they are properly dry. Ironing bedding is a bit of a chore and I usually do that in the sitting room and listen to the TV at the same time. Thank goodness the days are gone when I had to iron 4 shirts every day.
I love how your organise your day you seem to get through such a lot and still have time for reading. Good idea with the ironing room.
