Walking is the perfect way of moving if you want to see into the life of things. It is the one way of freedom. If you go to a place on anything but your own feet you are taken there too fast, and miss a thousand delicate joys that were waiting for you by the wayside. Elizabeth von Arnim

Pictures

A nice quiet walk around the lake this morning.  It was a warm 64 degrees and a bit on the humid side when I started out.  The usual amount of people were around for a Monday.
I saw a turtle hiding in the grass.  I think it was a painted turtle but it may have been a slider.  I can't tell the difference between them.
There seem to be a lot more gray catbirds around this year.  Also robins and red winged blackbirds.  I guess what I'm saying is there seem to be more birds around!

School must have ended last week for the summer because I didn't see any school buses this morning and traffic was much less than usual.
I was a few doors away from home when I saw my neighbor walking his dog.  I asked him if I could have his autograph because I saw him on television last night.  He just laughed.  He is a car salesman and was in a commercial for the dealership he works for.  : )
I walked 6.2 miles.

Yesterday I received a little present from my Secret Sister at church.  This cool red water bottle.
I did a couple of loads of laundry and those few chores that just have to be done every day. Then I spent quite a lot of time on the computer.  I've had my Apple for quite a few years now and it has been doing some weird things lately so I'm thinking I might be getting a new one in near future.  So before I loose all my pictures, I went through all the pictures in iPhoto and threw away about 600 of them.  A lot of duplicates of the same thing and photos that I just don't know what I was saving for anyway.  Then I burned all the ones I wanted on a CD.
I also have lots of pictures saved in folders and started going through them too.  Just too many to do in one day so I'll continue doing them at another time.  Hopefully before my computer dies.  It takes SO MUCH time looking through them all.

I didn't really get anything done today that I wanted but feel good that I've made a very good start on saving my pictures.

A happy day to you all. : )

Hi Karen, That little water bottle reminds me of our Smoothie/Milkshake bottles, which could also be used for water, etc. We bought them (one for each of us) along with a tiny blender from Oster several months ago. They are fabulous...

Since GE and I both drink smoothies/shakes (him a protein shake and me a Mango smoothie) --after a long, hard day in the yard, we find that the smaller blenders are MUCH better than the bigger ones. Don't know if you drink smoothies or not, but if you do, get one... It's great!!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

You are very smart to know how to save your pictures.
It has been a nice day, but a little on the warm side.

The red water bottle is a thoughtful gift. I can imagine you will put it to good use.
It always amazes me how quickly the pictures add up. I feel like I'm constantly deleting them. I guess I take more than I realize.

It has been very warm here today. The rain this morning didn't last long and we need some more.

I understand the going through the pics on the computer. I still have a bit more of that to do.

Cool red bottle! Your Secret Sister knows you well. :-)

Mmmmm, a new Mac may be on the horizon, hu? (There goes the queen size bed, for home.) -grinnnnnn-

Guess how I keep pics? On blogs of course. And for the ones I really want to keep, which aren't all that many, I send them to myself, in e-mail. They they are 'kept-for-me' in some Yahoo storage thing, somewhere. ,-)

But all in all, I don't have many photos, which I'd really want to keep. I haven't been a good-pic-keeper, in years. Have fun taking them, but.... Not necessary for me to keep them.

I know! Another one of the ways I AM WEIRD. -giggles- Along with not being crafty, and not going "thrifting." :-))))

I spend a lot of time managing pictures, too. Thankfully, I have my Exterior Hard Drive. I never want another computer crash and lose all my photos. It's happened twice. I have none of the grands' baby photos except those given to me by others. Sigh.

We planted the raised planter today and spread mulch. I'm exhausted in a good way, but I don't think that I'll ever get my hands clean again.

Muggy here as well...

Anything on the computer seems to take longer than one would expect. You've made great progress with those pictures, and I need to do the same with mine!

Sounds like a fun walk. You walked a 10K! Are the bane of digital cameras - too many pictures! I probably could take a week vacation to organize my photos and still not be done. Art

I must try and sort some of my files and photos out - not a thing I enjoy doing though! How nice to have a Secret Sister.
